I just got back from the NZ premiere and I agree with much of what you've said, even the part about the girls. This was more a Bond becoming Bond movie, I'd expect the next to be a little closer to 'formula'.

Oh, and did you catch both cameos from Michael Wilson?

yeah, but that's not a gadget ;-) it should be in any 00 first aid kit ;-) I didn't miss gadgets... I just missed 'Q' ;-) I loved the fact that he worked without Gadgets...

I liked it... Bond as bond should be imho... don't get me wrong... I loved The other ones as well... but this 'feels' right you know... hard, dark... not the pink fluffy cars loaded with Exorcet anti ship missiles... it felt more like Tim's Bond movies... and I loved those as well...

who's Michael Wilson?

Wilson is the Exec Producer, and is also married to Barbara Broccoli. He manages to get at least one cameo in each movie since Brosnan took over.

This time around he was the Chief of Police and the MI6 Banker in the room with M.
