My doctor has mentioned repeatedly that we can bring music with us to the delivery room (or operating room, as the case may be). She mentions this often enough and in such a way that I think she really wants us have music on us while the baby is happening. Maybe she's noticed that music makes the situation less tense or maybe she's one of those

Hmmm. Definately agree with the idea that loud angry music will go along with catastrophic physical pain...
