I was really going to say yes until i read that you could give up your dad. I just think that is awful, even if he is a bad person. My parents are no angels. I grew up with substance abuse all around me. But I would never give them up. My boyfriend's father is probably the worst person I've ever met. He abandonned my boyfriend's mom while she was pregnant, he's been married 8 times, has 13 kids that he claims (this doesn't count the ones he claims aren't his), he's a white-supremist, an alcoholic, abusive, and spent a couple years in prison for rape. And despite all that, when my boyfriend was old enough to make his own decisions, he wanted to try to have a relationship with his real father. His dad is constantly letting him down, and he never gives up.

I know thats just my personal experience with it, but I just think honestly not caring whether or not your father is in your life is just horrible.

I knew someone would have a problem with my response for that question, but I figured I'd answer it honestly. I really admire you and your boyfriend for being strong and trying to repair the relationship with your parents. Every situation is unique, and maybe one day I'll grow and be able to get along with my father.

Thanks for your input.

This issue still bothers me, but I think your response was pretty mature. When I was 15, I thought when I moved out I'd probably never speak to my parents again. Now I'm 22, and the issues I dealt with growing up still plague me, but we are closer than ever. And if they piss me off, I leave.

Anyway, as long as you acknowledge that your feelings may change as you get older, I'm in.

+Experiences

+You're cute

-"I went to a public school in Philadelphia and got absolutely no education out of it." ..I hope you're just talking about that one school in Philadelphia, because I've attended public schools my entire life and I feel that I've recieved a great education. As long as it's not a sweeping generalization, I'm cool with it.

you're pretty. I should probably change my member picture, I just really like the way the smoke looks in it, but besides that, it's not a good picture

i'm not going to go into it, but it bothers me as well that you'd give up your relationship with your father.

i'd do anything i could in this world and give up everything i own for my father to be back alive, sometimes you dont realize how much you need/love something until its gone for good.
