Okay, people. I've a request to ask of you all, or at least some. I'm sure that some of you were once eight years old, hopefully anyway, and possibly had pierced ears. What is um..acceptable type of cuteish earrings for an eight year old?

Yeah. Heidi got her ears pierced, which is awesome in the fact that it's something else I can get retardedly ( Read more... )

Awww, pierced ears look so cute on little kids. I'm not sure what kind of earrings would relate to Poe, even tangentially, unless you found some like, All-Seeing Eye occult Masonic thing of craziness for The Cask of Amontillado, LOL, or say, raven heads. Ohhh I know they sell feather earrings, but that might be a bit much for an eight year old. I'm assuming that bigger earrings will make her look weirdly teenaged-but-not.

Okay, there are actually some relatively tame and cute earrings of whole ravens, if she's had her ears pierced long enough to wear danglies. These are supposedly Ravenclaw earrings, but they're cutesy enough that I could see a younger kid wearing them. (Another thing about eight year olds plus danglies: maybe make sure they aren't the kind that can just slip on and off, because they're sorta pokey on the head and could fall out while she's running around, IDK if eight year olds run around now that I think about it, but hey.)

Awhawhaw, I found some raven post earrings that are super cute. You know what sort of ( ... )

I absolutely love those little ravens! Those will definitely be considered.

I found a pair of small pink roses. Pink's her favorite color, and I don't know, they make me think of Victorian stuff. Victorian stuff makes me happy.

I have been told multiple times that I can be very neurotic when it comes to gift giving. I plan gifts carefully, make lists, and usually go slightly insane trying to get the right things. Usually this happens months before I even need the gifts. It's just like Halloween costumes.

I'm not that awesome, I'm casually influencing her tastes in things by buying her stuff I like. :P

Those rose earrings are so pretty! And I totally know what you mean about gift neuroticism. It's one of my favorite things to do when not under pressure. I've taken to just keeping a word document of ideas that pop into my head way way before I need them to show up.

Doing it in word seems like much more of a better idea than writing everything on random scraps of paper and then losing it all in the small piles of clutter that is my desk. That's why I need chalkboard walls. I have bad short term memory and am messy. I lose everything. :P
