It's probably just poor sales in general (most people I know haven't even heard of it, and I once knew someone who, for some reason, hated it with a burning passion), or possibly the team in charge of this still isn't entirely sure how to approach this the right way. I can't really blame them for that.

I doubt that it has anything to do with the next-gen DVD wars, though. Most people don't seem to care, and with a show that quite frankly doesn't benefit much from next-gen, there's no real point in it. If the show would sell poorly on regular DVD, it would sell even worse on a next-gen format (now, at least).

they should make like the UK WL is doing - releasing two seasons at a time?

What do you mean? I mean, I have problems with the way Warner is releasing it too, but I'm pretty sure they didn't screw up the order of the episodes. They're on the disks in the same order that they were aired.

I agree that the way the UK WL is being released is better, though. Even just for the fact that it takes up less space. 5 sets of 4 thinpacked DVDs each doesn't take up as much space as 22 (probably) sets of 2-disk flipper cases...
