Would anyone want to read any of the following books?

- The Celestine Prophecy

- Ishamael

- Life of Pi

-The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

They are 4 books I started reading long ago, and then stopped after the first few chapters, due to my irritating distractability. I feel discouraged with reading, and think it would be enjoyable (but more importantly, motivational) to read these books at the same ( Read more... )

I'd totally be up for reading Hitchhiker's Guide. I need to re-read that, anyway.

Ooh ooh, if I can find more copies, we should try American Psycho, or Neverwhere! Those two rock.

Possibly? I know it got a 6-part TV series from BBC...

It's originally a really kickass novel by Neil Gaiman.

The series was a strange one. I watched it ages ago. I liked that crazy bird guy :)

we could photocopy it chapter by chapter or something. it's not that expensive to do, like $3 for a hundred pages...

Alternately, someone could probably borrow my copy, which is less effort and causes significantly less suspicion from passersby than photocopying an entire book.

Actually, I didn't think it was a terribly amazing book, although it was kind of neat in its own way.

You can also put books on hold at the Library.

I've read all but Celestine but I've heard good and bad about it. Ishmael and Pi were totally interesting (though there's one part in Pi I've never been able to understand) and Hitchhiker's is hilarious. I had the radio show on tape and that was great for long car rides. I'd be down with reading the Prophecies in tandem.

I might make that book last to read out of the 4, and then providing we enjoy the first, we can read the second or third after. I think there are 3 books, not including the workbook, for the Prophecies. Is that correct?
