Oh no, you've betrayed LJ for facelessbook. For shame. But I'm glad to see you post something here. Well I DID leave you a birthday comment on the previous post but I don't think you got it. Leaving you comments here is probably not the way to go. May I have your email again? I wish you luck on all your studies. And if you come down here I want to meet up with you.
Hey Des. :) I know, I know...I'm truly sorry about that. ;_; >.> It's just that, if I have to choose the site I can best keep up with for the most part, Facebook is unfortunately the most convenient. (At least it's not MySpace or something. O.o XD)
Love the festive palm tree! Anyway, I'm also very sorry I didn't acknowledge your birthday comment!!! I just read it now, and I want to thank you belatedly for remembering!! It was so kind of you. I don't know why I didn't get an e-mail about it. I'm supposed to be e-mailed every time I get a comment, which is why it's usually a sure way of writing to me. But absolutely, here's my address: shellythesaluki@gmail.com.
Thank you so much for your comments and wishes. =D I'll let you know if the Florida thing works out. ^~
You were one of my better posters so it's a shame to lose you. I'll save your email and write you there sometime. I'm glad you like the palm tree. Hee hee that's one of my new icons for Christmas. The reason for my surprised Mr. Krabs though is that I just looked at your profile and about died when I saw that there is a real town called Stoney Brook Connecticut. OMG! I made up that name and Chose that state for my story because it's between Harvard, Yale and New York. That's totally creeping me out. I hope I don't have to go through my book and rename it again. EEK!
Oh, I feel awful...but yet, you're one of the most interesting and unique people I've ever met online, so it's pretty great to be valued as a friend by somebody like that! ^^ I'm glad to talk to you again and see what you've been up to. Feel free to write me anytime!
Oh dear! Stoneybrook actually refers to the hometown of the characters in one of my favorite children's book series, The Baby-Sitters Club. xD To be perfectly honest I'm not sure if it's a real place or not. I'm sure I found out once and forgot. But for some reason I don't think it is. Ann M. Martin probably just made it up! So since I didn't want to list my actual hometown (Clark, NJ!) I joined the other BSC fans in putting Stoneybrook. Ha! Funny that you used the same exact name for your story. I think that's okay, though. I mean, I'm sure you didn't know about the BSC! You had a good reason for choosing the location...but if you want to make up a new town name, that'd be all right, IF you really want to make it different!
Oh my gosh! A NEW Miser Brothers Christmas special!! :D
Of course, I still don't have cable, but at least it's out there, and if I can't catch it this year I'm sure it will be re-run and/or on DVD. The Year Without a Santa Claus is one of my favorite holiday specials. You rock for including the Miser Brothers in your holiday display.
Your life sounds exciting and fun, especially the courses you're considering. Marine biology is frickin' awesome -- have you ever read The Edge of the Sea by Rachel Carson? It's one of the best books I've ever read

Hey, it's better to swallow your pride and live at home, instead of mortgaging your future away with student loans! :P
Miser Brothers: I saw a little preview clip online, and totally lolled at how closely they imitated the original stop-motion animation! (In a way, I would have hoped that modern technology could have made the characters' facial expressions a little less creepy....)
