I never wanted to do it. I was forced, or ordered, to commit this heinous act. Ah Merlin, my sole defense is “I was just following orders.”
Nobody will believe me, I fear. I know people are amazed he ever trusted me. I know what they are thinking now.
“He trusted that Greasy Git and look where it got him. Killed.”
Albus Dumbledore was more like a father to me than the Muggle bastard that sired me, and made my life hell. Well, they both did. But Albus actually cared.
And this is how I repaid him.
Just following orders.
