So, in case some people haven't heard, I did some extra work on the new Adam Sandler movie "Grownups" (which also stars Selma Hayak *drools...*, David Spade, Chris Rock and Kevin James). So here is a lil synopsis of what excitement has happened thus far in my week.
Monday: I woke up at 5:30 in the morning to get to Water wizz in Wareham MA. Why would I wake up at such an ungodly hour? Because in order to get into the movie (which I initially did not)I had to be one of the first 300 people in order to get into the park and the movie for free. Being the kind person that I am, I subjected my friend Gina to this by being a creeper the night before and inviting her last minute haha.
Anyway after waiting a while to get into the park (approximately from 7am to 8am) we got to ride on all of the 9 rides (wOoOoOo yay ghetto water park haha) which was fun because there were no lines (virtually anyway). We did have to pay some bullshitery (10$ for a locker to keep our things, madness I say!)but it was worth it. Possibly I am in one scene in the way background waiting in a line (unless they were totally lying to us), but hopefully I was in a wave pool scene. Basically Gina and I ninja'd our way into that scene. I also hilariously had a Marilyn Monroe moment where one of the straps on my super fierce vintage pinup-esque red bathing suit straps fell down, but I caught it so there was no flashing lol. We did have to wait a long time after that to be in another scene (which we weren't I might add)and I got a sunburn cause I am a vampire and the sun hates me haha. To add a few highlights, I saw Adam Sandler 3 times and I snuck back behind the scenes (due to my internshipness) and got to see Selma Hayak, who was very gorgeous but also very petite, not skeletal but not VaVoom (it could have been her bathing suit or the movie trying to de-sexify her, to which I say NAY!) and my bathing suit was complimented by a really cute little black girl out of the blue and by a random lady so it was totally worth staying. Despite the lack of pay.
Adam Sandler count: 3
Selma Hayak count: 1 (but it twas GLORIOUS haha)
Tuesday and Wednesday were typical me- rushing around, go to the gym, hang out with friends--> a lovely combination of rushing around and relaxing haha
Thursday: When the REAL excitement happened. I was woken up at 8am by my dad because a woman at my work (Nancy, who is one of my superiors) basically told me to get my ass to the waterpark for a chance at paid extraship, which I heartily agreed and somehow made it around 9. Initally I wore my sexay red bikini because I thought it would be nice out (wrong!), so when I actually got there and filled out some paperwork, I had to get ready for a funeral scene (spoiler-whoops!) and get all dressed up. Nancy, being the lifesaver that she is, brought me a dress to wear so I just went to hair and makeup (I wish I had pictures, cause my hair was FABULOUS!!! haha) The hair dress put my hair in this half up down style with 2 braids and it was really pretty. We weren't allowed cameras or phones with cameras so alas I was unable to take pictures. But after I was done I was whisked away via shuttle to a tiki bar and a bunker to film the scene. All of the extras in the funeral scene had to wait at the tiki bar because it was cold and rainy outside, and then were ushered into the bunker. Basically what I got to do was be in the back and walk up front with the woman who was my "mother" and pantomime conversation that would be appropriate for a funeral. Then after another mini break, I got to sit up front in the 3rd row. At first I was squished on the end, but then one of the assistants moved me more to the middle which was awesome. So possibly I might be in that scene, unless I look totally retarded (which hopefully I do not!). After that I had an hour lunch break, got hot coca, saw Adam Sandler twice. I didn't film another water park scene (thankfully because it was raining, although I was still cold because it was raining and I had a bikini on. But overall it was fun, and I'm getting paid cash money (for Thursday, Friday and Saturday). So...
Adam Sandler count: twice (although I have yet to talk to him)
Selma Hayak count: none. Alas...
More to come in the future...
