I have a ton of things that I've done in the past week to post about, but I'm going to wait until I have access to my new laptop (I'm currently writing this from Leslie's apartment) so that I can post pictures. So, have a year end meme instead.
1. What did you do in 2011 that you’d never done before?
I graduated from college, moved to a foreign country, and got a job.
2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I think my resolution for last year was to figure out what I wanted to do with my life. I'll probably make another resolution for next year. Probably to improve my Japanese.
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Tami had baby Greysen. He's such a happy little cutie~
4. Did anyone close to you die?
Grandma Baker died after I came to Japan. I was sad, but she lived a really long life.
5. What countries did you visit?
Japan
6. What would you like to have in 2012 that you lacked in 2011?
Is it too selfish of me to want an actual relationship?
7. What date from 2011 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
On May 8th, I graduated from IU. On July 24th, I moved to Japan. These are both pretty big life changing events.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating college and getting accepted to JET.
9. What was your biggest failure?
I honestly can't think of a major failure from the past year.
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Nothing major.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
Probably concert tickets. I got to see Lady Gaga and exist trace this year.
12. Where did most of your money go?
Rent for my apartment.
13. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Going back to Japan!
14. What songs will always remind you of 2011?
"Born This Way" is a big one.
15. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? Thinner, because I always lose weight when I go to Japan due to the amount of walking I do.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer. I have a good job!
16. What do you wish you’d done more of?
I wish I'd been an even braver person when I was back at IU. I want to live my life and give no fucks.
17. What do you wish you’d done less of?
I wish there had been less wasted time over the summer.
18. What are you glad you did more of in 2011?
I'm glad that I got to be truer to myself.
19. How did you spend Christmas?
With Kiri, Anna, and Leslie. We went to Akiba and had all of the shabu shabu for lunch on Christmas Day. Christmas Eve was our actual Christmas celebration (cause that's when the celebrating usually happens in Japan) at Leslie's apartment, complete with KFC, a Christmas cake, and a gift exchange.
20. Did you fall in love in 2010?
Nothing more than a couple crushes that didn't work out.

Definitely Deathly Hallows, Part 2. All of the feelings.

I turned 23. Ali and I went out to Ni-chome the night before my birthday and the day of my birthday I went to Cafe 80+1 with Leslie.
29. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
I'm not too unsatisfied with this past year, but I wish that this summer could have been better. I didn't see so much of my friends.
30. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2011?
My fashion didn't change until coming to Japan. In Japan I wear more skirts/shorts with tights because it's the thing to do and a nice appearnce is very important.
31. What kept you sane?
The happy times (cons and concerts), music, my friends (especially DJ).
32. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

33. What political issue stirred you the most?
SOPA and NDAA.

I miss DJ so much. That's the downside of living in a foreign country. I no longer get to see my best friend all the time.

I don't think I can pick just one person. I've met a lot of new people here during my time in Japan.

Celebrating New Year's the Japan way, by making shrine visits.
