The Peace They Found
Where the brink runs thin
and treacherous
Belief visits a man at the edge
He sees peace in a sequence
A series of moments
of solace, of anguish and thirst.
Between punches thrown
and semen drying
they learnt the damnedest things
That angels can kiss
while crying
and love with bloodied hands
That a blue-green prayer
if hard fought for, hard won,
might save a blue-green planet.
Where the brink widens, calms, a man
recalls all the moments they stole
while the world was burning down.
