Summary: After having a row with one of his best mates earlier this week Sirius is blowing off some steam.  Who dares to talk with him?

[Covering his face with his robes, coughing a bit at the sawdust raised by the explosion. His face is still red from crying but he does look better than when he did whenever last talk to Sirius.]

[At the sight of Harry he can't even hide the guilt on his face. He was the one who lied to him about his mum - then James had to go open his big bloody mouth. Sirius waited for something, a sign of how Harry was going to take it, if he was going to blame Sirius for lying. And yet he couldn't stop the words from coming out of his mouth.]

Hey kiddo.

[Harry takes a moment to lower his arm, pretending to concentrate more on making sure the fabric was clear of debris before he looks up at him. There isn't even a look of blame on his face, just sadness and having learned a lesson about his dad years before he should have. Still, he gives his godfather a tired grin, mostly on reflex now.]

Hey.... Wasn't aware we were in the need for firewood.

[He does feel better about not seeing any blame in the kid. Though there will always be a little bit about how Harry had to find out instead. Especially since he had to see his own father act like a giant prat. Instead of talking about it, he returns Harry's smile with a small one of his own.]

We didn't but there seems to be a call for toothpicks. Want to help? [Sirius held out his wand for Harry to borrow.]

[A little guilt makes you stronger, I guess. But in a good way finding out this way he'll actually believe it. Doesn't mean he doesn't love his dad any less, it's just a lesson and he's learning to cope with it. Not very well this week, it still might start this week near the end. Harry shakes his head at the proffered wand, if he takes it there's no accounting to what might happen.]

Even with as many folks as there are here I don't think we'll need this many.

[Sirius shrugs as Harry declines the offer and instead slings his arm around the boy's shoulders - much like he'd do with James only...Harry was still a bit shorter. This smile is bigger, much more relaxed and there's a hint of teasing in his voice.]

Didn't I mention? I'm building a replica of the Hogwarts castle out of tootpicks as my next project.

[For now he leaves Sirius' arm where it is, looking up at his godfather and trying to look like the normal teenaged kid that he's familiar with. Like everything earlier in the week hadn't happened.]

And what was the first project if there's already a "next"?

[If there's anyone who's good a pretending the last two weeks were a pile of rubbish it's Sirius. And he's more than happy to help Harry feel like a normal kid again.]

The maps, of course! We worked on that thing for months even though we already knew how to make it. Our magic only having half-strength was one of many hindrances.

[Totally the best thing ever to go along with, you know. The best.]

Shame I missed it, would've been wicked to watch.

[He ruffles Harry's hair. Yes get used to it because it will happen a lot.]

Maybe we'll show you how to do it so you can make maps of your own.

Ron'll be totally jealous about it.

[He turns his wand back to blasting tree remains.]
