Summary: The Capes set up a substitute HQ in one of the train compartments. Random rendezvous between the Capes and whoever is tagging along with them.

Thursday - early in the morning-ish

[How in the world did this happen in the first place? He's seated in the car, wide awake for some reason. Knees drawn up, he takes a glance around to whoever's there and lets out a breath.]

... Huh.

THEN SUDDENLY BATMAN

[notasidedick]

[Funny how you totally glanced around and saw nothing, then suddenly a hand is offering you a piece of fruit. A gloved hand.]

You holding up okay? [Unrecognizable. Unless you remember Dick's physical height and stature that well.]

ALEX HAS A HEART ATTACK, OUT FOR THE WEEK

--! [He's going to jerk back into the seat, wide-eyed. The voice doesn't register nor does the face, so he'll be staring more than dumbfounded for a moment.]

... Best as I can be.

[He tilts his head slightly, the piece of fruit still being offered while he waits for you to calm down. He's used to this.]

Sorry about that. The whole appear and disappear out of nowhere is almost a hobby by now.

No injuries? Have you eaten?

at least he can't get into trouble that way?

[Scrutinizing that fruit, a lot. Then taking it because if he was going to be killed, it probably would've happened already.]

No, I'm alright I just.. I know you?

THAT IS TRUE. Kind of sucks though.

[He goes back to eating more of his own.]

You know me. I'm usually less intimidating. [And more dorky and silly.] You'll probably figure it out once you think about it.

it does cause then you have to look over his not!corpse :c

[He's thinking on it now, taking a bite of the fruit after wiping it on his shirt. A tilt of the head and he exhales.]

I'm guessing the part of that intimidation is with the voice too, hm?

Dick will protect you Alex :C Don't worry.

[He chuckles a little. There's a familiarity in that chuckle of his. He can't ever help it either.]

Well, yes. I don't shoot lasers out of my eyes or have super strength. I have to make up for it somewhere you can say.

[His mind's boiling over the words of the other but for some reason, his subconscious is ringing out a little more strongly. The laugh's familiar, part of him knows it and so in the middle of his thinking, one hand reaches over to the other, makes the motion as if to slap him at the wrists--

Wait, what?

Some more staring.] ... Really?

[He pulls his hand away from the other.]

I don't think I've done anything to deserve that yet. Unless scaring you deserves a swat. [Oh goodie. You've caught on. He doesn't have to explain himself.] I guess you're catching on. But it's a secret. [He gives you a cheeky grin.]

yay Batman's got his back

[The realization is slapping him - and not so gently either.]

I only swat those that deserve it. [A pause and he takes in a breath, another bite of the fruit.] Not sure who I'd tell this secret too anyway.

Don't need anyone else when you got Batman.

[Oh dear.]

Did I deserve it then? [Laughs, as he finishes his own.] You can tell the other Capes. I'm sure they'd love to know. [He's being silly. Even as Batman.]

Well. Alex doesn't /have/ anyone else. Kind of. :c

I didn't do it, did I?

[Oh Dick, it is you. Cracking a small smile, Alex shakes his head.] Maybe, but that's not my nature. Thanks for the fruit, by the way.

You didn't.

[He gets back to his feet, walking around the car in thought. His cape just trails behind him.] No problem. I'll be getting off at the next stop though. I assume, you'll be sticking around the train for the most part? Remember to have someone around before you leave to venture out.

He's okay with that. More than okay! c:

[Watching for a moment, it's still sinking in but Alex gives a nod. Leaving him? Now what's he gonna do. Beside spam Timothy's voicemail.]

Would it be too much to ask if I could come with? I can't sleep.

[notasidedick]

[He turns before smiling at him.] I do enjoy having company while I beat some creatures in.

No, it wouldn't be too much to ask. But you're going to have to listen to whatever orders I give you. If I tell you to stop and hide, you stop and hide. If I say run the hell back to the train without me, then do so. Even if that means leaving me to die. Get it?
