The creature sounds in the background of the situation, claws digging into the slippery surface as he keeps his pace up alongside the other, turning to look at him as well. The smile--it brings a small one to his lips along with a soft puff of laughter but it is of the nervous kind. The whole situation is ridiculous and the only thing he can think of is the look on the cowl's faces if they found out this was happening. Well--like it or not, they were in the situation and sprint they did. His breath caught the air with each exhale and they neared the water, his eyes looking over it ( ... )

To call for help now would mean that their journey would end there with the arrival of one of the other's on the last car. Either that, or their journey for two would turn into just a tour, no fun at all. Not that he thought running for his life was fun, it had just been some time since he had been able to do something as exhilarating as this, though it had not been as life-threatening. The water in sight, Alex's body tensed with excitement but at the same time the more logical gears in his head were turning, considering options and possible scenarios. As they drew closer to the edge, Alex stopped barely and turned around to see the beast jump. No time to think, he said--go with whatever was going to happen ( ... )

It was one of those situations where your heart beats so quickly and your blood is rushing with the adrenaline and fear of the moment that you forget to make a noise, that you're too wrapped up in the moment to scream because then the ruin made its leap and hit the ground, the ice shook them to the core. Clawed arm swiping out, the noises that it made, it kept from reaction like a deer caught in the headlights but it was the cracking of the ground beneath them that broke the stare. The ice parted and with their weight slid upwards towards the sky, dumping them down into the icy cold depths below. A quick intake of breath was the only sound that left him as he hit the waters surface.

Sinking, deeper, deeper--remember to breathe and exhale, inhale. Looking around, he turned to find Alex as they descended towards to what laid beneath.

There's a moment where Alex's instinct is to break for the surface but instead he stops, knows that he'd rather be down here than up there. That was the choice, wasn't it? To come explore this place. A glance around and he sees Timothy, feels his feet settle on the floor. Breathe, he tells himself because he remembers talking to various people about the place: Sirius, Remus, a few more that only mention it. The feeling is amazing and he reaches out with his hand - feels wet, seems like it, but they're alive.

A nod when the other turns to look at him-- 'go on' is the motion. Stepping forward, he gets the hang of it and he finds it's not too difficult, but the scene does seem to take his breath away, despite the already present irony.

It's a strange sensation to be in the water, its beyond comprehension to be able to breathe under the surface but its something that he just has to sit back and forget about. Looking around, it is crystalline and it is the most vivid color of blue as they reached the floor, his feet stumbling somewhat to get used to the weightlessness of being there, his tie catching the air and flipping over his shoulder. A glance to the side though and he looks to Alex, exchanging a smile at the situation, looking to his motion and turning his body to follow quietly behind as fish sailed around them, acrobats within the water.

He had been down here before, but it was a new experience with Alex--his blood was still rushing from the events just moments ago and the danger of being with another who likely was as useless as he was in a fight against a creature like that. With an exhale though, he continues the path, watching out for whatever would greet them next.

His collar flaps up with the surrounding change and he forgets to fix it when his eyes readjust and his mind tries to wrap itself around the surroundings. The corners of his lips are up a little to long for it to be considered just a fluke but he doesn't care--simply follows after the other the best as he can. He doesn't go too far ahead nor does he lag back, the adrenaline keeps him on his toes, with a bounce to his step that not many have seen with him around the Facility. A glance to Timothy and he knows that the other has been here before somehow, somewhere; with Tim, something like that as far as he knows but he doesn't pay much mind because it doesn't matter ( ... )

He holds his own reasons for doing all this. Alex, it's strange how close they had become in the last few weeks since their arrival in the new environment. While he was certain they could not be considered friends just of yet, there was a level of trust that was growing and there was a feeling that he could let his guard down around the other if only for a moment. Sure, he was a little hard to read sometimes and it was difficult to feel like he was getting the honest truth from him but he was starting to enjoy his company, and despite having been there already--he didn't mind so much because he liked it, the feeling of weightlessness within the water, breathing it in and not drowning and asides, it was a new experience with another person ( ... )

A shrug of the shoulders in reply and his hands move with them to complete the motion. Straightening back up with hands on his hips, Alex makes a motion for them to follow after because well - it is still water, and the physics are all still very apparent, asides from pressure and oxygen standards. Reaching for his 'berry, he fumbles with the screen, finding it odd that it's intact but not impossible as this is after all, still some sort of Wonderland.

Can you swim?

Holding up the screen to the other, he pulls back after enough time is given to put it away. A pause and he tests the water, gives a small push against the ground beneath their feet and finds himself floating. Eyes wide but still full of wonder, he makes a motion to the other, then back to the boat. It'll be faster for them to cut across, probably.

Looking at the text that is offered to him, he gives a quick nod and moves to follow suit. With a breath he pushes off the surface below his feet with a bend to his knees and a kick of his legs to catch up with the other, arms moving at his side, long limbs providing enough momentum. Looking up, his eyes trail over the image of the boat then back to Alex, noting his motion and turning as they floated within the water.

It was strange, to be suspended and to know they could walk perfectly fine below, perhaps even run but there was something about this Wonderland that made it worth it to be in the open-water, obvious to anyone else or any creature within but for a moment his mind was off of it. He takes a moment to speak, but all he can formulate is a quiet reply.

"Amazing."

Naturally he expects Timothy to pull ahead but once he looks back to him, there's the confirmation of a nod and he's following close behind still blown away by the situation. It's something for the two of them to talk about when Alex is actually able to respond without having to rely on the 'berry so with the same amount of enthusiasm, if not more, he's turning in the water, testing out the extent of movement. A small spin and he almost tries for a laugh but catches himself. He wouldn't want to jinx himself and cough up blood, attract something they don't want.

Hearing the other however, he swims up beside him, lightly punches him in the arm as a warning with a brow raised. He knows the other has said his punishment isn't so bad, but he still doesn't like the idea- save the other some suffering at least, if he can. There are lights in the distance, ones that don't fit in with the tones of the ocean, and it's where the ship is going, so he guesses that that'll be their best bet.

He tenses when it seems like the other is going to laugh--he knows what a sound from the other will bring and he watches him carefully, for any signs of distress before relaxing into the waters once more. Kicking with his legs he offers the other a smile at the trick, feeling himself turn slightly off balance from the currents of the water before righting himself with movement from his arms. It was hard to keep from floating off in the open waters but it felt amazing, almost as if he was never wet, almost as if the gravity had been turned off.

Still--the punch and he jumps a little, placing his hand over the spot. Looking to the other, Timothy narrowed his eyes slightly, playfully in a way. "I'm fine--" He spoke before looking to the lights where the others attention had directed him. With an arch of his brow and look to the other, then kicking off he moved onward.

His head tilts in return to the other and there's a small frown. He only nods in return because what can he do if he can't talk, and if the other is stubborn? They'll just continue to butt heads for the rest of this journey, he supposes. One way or another something is going to happen. Swimming near the other, not too close or too far for comfort, Alex keeps his arms at his sides when he can and instead replies on his legs for the most part. His hands occasionally extend for direction and height adjustment and every now and then he turns over to look at Timothy, regard him with a nod or something of the sort.

They're getting closer to the area, and there haven't been many monsters encountered; is it safe to say that they'll be fine for the rest of the journey? Just over an arrangement of rocks, Alex can see the city, and it motivates him to swim a little faster, motion to Timothy because that's where the ship is heading, or at least where it had been going - it seems to have gotten away.

He is stubborn that much is true but he tries his hardest not to let the memories get to him despite how much he had talked up to that point. Lately they might had been giving him a headache, they might had been increasing in intensity but he was still going to try his hardest to ignore them. Still, he does not think about it much and keeps his mouth closed for the moment, heading over when the other motions him near.

Already close enough, he reaches out to brace himself on the outcropping of rocks, moving to position himself to stand and walks near the edge, looking down. Parting his lips, he does not say much but it is beautiful. A look to the side and the question remains, should they continue? For Timothy though, this is no question--they should.

This one's floating over the formation when Timothy gets close enough--he's braced on his hands as he looks over and his feet hang behind him in the water, up and down in a slow pattern as he thinks on the sight. His eyes are wide for a moment and he takes it in with a breath, a shake of the head after staring some more because this is not the end of the road for them. The two of them did not leave the safety of the train and risk themselves just to gawk at a distance at some far off area. A slight push and he's floating towards the lights, the arrangement of buildings. Another glance over his shoulder to Timothy and he looks as if he's challenging the other almost.

Keep up--it's a subtle message because there's no doubt about whether they should get closer, both know that.
