Who: Sammy and Gene-Genie When: This morning Where: In their room - in bed Summary: Just an average day for Sam and Gene Rating: PG-13 Warnings: None to give yet
Sam was actually rather fond of the arm Gene had left, though he had no idea who that arm belonged to. There was just something nice about waking up a few hours later nice and warm and being held. The problem was that Gene Hunt, while he had rather lovely fingernails for a bloke, he still had a massive hand and a suddenly much too heavy to be a woman's arm.
It was not the first time that Gene had crawled into bed with him and not the first time that Sam felt a bit of disgruntled dismay because he was half tempted to just feign sleep to keep the comfort.
And avoid the yelling.
Luckily, he got to avoid the yelling today too, but for a different reason. Sam Tyler had no voice.
Gene didn't realise for a while where he was until he rolled onto his stomach and cracked his eyes open and... God damn it! There was Sam Tyler. Grunting, he jerked upright and offered Sam a baffled look.
"We're changing bunks, can't be arsed to climb that ladder and--"
Something was wrong. All it took was one look to the right to realise that. What the hell had happened to his arm?
Sam was trying to ask the same question and though his lips were moving, there was utter silence coming from his throat. He put one hand to his neck, feeling for a vibration that just wasn't there and certainly wouldn't sporadically appear. He tried to clear his throat, and nothing.
Climbing over Gene, dressed in his vest and pants, Sam grabbed his phone from the desk and groaned wordlessly before throwing it at Gene on his way back.
Inquisitive, Sam pulled back Gene's shirt and peered at the stump left behind. It looked like he was born without it, the surface was utterly smooth.
Gene had to check to make sure he was death because Sam was making zero noise. It was like watching some weird mime yelling at him for something he didn't even understand he'd done.
"What are you doin'?!" He was maimed and Sam was trying to climb on and have a feel? He never did look at his phone so all he did, instead of checking it, was throw it back at Sam.
