[Sollux whips his hand out of karkat's grasp afterwards, ego a little bruised at the treatment (he has a perfectly handsome hand okay), and tries to move. Nothing.]

Uh so, I guess that. Didn't work.

...Maybe. On. The cheek?

[He sounds so hopeful, but a part of him already knows that probably isn't going to fly.]

[He doesn't exactly want to kiss Sollux on the cheek either, and troubleshooting their way to the lips was only going to make things worse for him. He stares at the floor, hands clenching at his sides.]

What is the tradition? Is the tradition on the lips?

I don't know I guess?!

[he said. frustration at the situation leaking into his voice.]

It's a romantic thing. So probably?

[he wasn't an expert on human culture or anything, but he at least knew this was supposed to have romantic conotations. maybe any kiss would work if the intent was romantic enough? sollux really didn't feel like kissing karkat while thinking about that kind of feeling though.]

[Karkat straight up doesn't want to kiss anybody at all.]

[He tries to think of what to do but his brain feels like it's frozen, unpleasant images playing on repeat in the back of his mind.]

[He looks at the ground and doesn't say anything, almost without noticing.]

Karkat...

[he reaches out to put a hand on his shoulder. but doesn't. pulling his hand back after a moment.]

We. We don't have to do anything, okay? It'll probably just wear off.

[sufferheir]

[And he just sounds bitter when he replies.]

Yeah, and who knows how long that'll be?

Hey. At most a week right?

[he tries to make a joke, it comes out sounding flat even to his own ears.]

[sufferheir]

[It's even more so to Karkat. He claws at his arm, increasingly anxious.]

We should just do it.

[psionichax0r]

..It's not like we'll die from standing here.

[sufferheir]

I don't want to, I want to go.

[And something about those words come out just triggers him even worse. His hands are shaking.]

Karkat. Look at me.

[God he wanted to take his hands. steady them with his own. but he didn't. he almost wished he had his wings for a second. just so he could wrap them around Karkat like he'd done before.]

It's okay, alright? We don't have to do anything you don't want to.

We'll think of something else.

[sufferheir]

[He looks up at Sollux, still shaking. He doesn't like being trapped there, it's too fucking familiar. His urge to run is getting stronger and stronger but he can't.]

Like what? What are we supposed to do?

[He was keeping it hidden before, but he's clearly starting to panic now. The memories won't get out of his head.]

[the panic honestly surprised him a bit]

Karkat. It's just me.

I'm not going to hurt you.

[sufferheir]

[He manages his breath, trying to steady himself. He can't quite pull it off.]

I...I fucking know you won't so...

[Fuck, he needs to get somewhere, he needs to hide.]

So we should just do it. I want to get the fuck out of here.

[He hesitated for a moment, studying Karkat. He was so nervous, so panicked, and so desperate. Sollux leaned down slowly, and placed a hesitant kiss on Karkat's forehead. Trying to make it comforting. Focusing on his pale feelings. And then without thinking about it very much he moves down to kiss him softly and gently on the lips.]

[sufferheir]

[He shivers as Sollux's lips down his forehead, holding stalk still as he moves down to his lips. It's different his time. It's not forceful like it was before. But it still scares him.]

[He forces himself to kiss back for only a moment before breaking away. And he can immediately tell it's worked because when he stumbles back it lets him.]
