scientific studies strongly suggest that violent catharsis actually intensifies the negative emotions associated with it. they're making things worse for themselves

We're also in a scientific study of some sort.
And people have a tendency to linger towards instant gratification then long going. The fact that destroying the TVs are instantly fixing their stress for that short period of time, makes it easier to just do it then to actually wait it out.
