[When the feed cuts in, there's two faces peering in on it from either side, one blue, one feline. For once, they both seem to be maintaining the same level of severity; all that's said, though, is a gentle line from Klarion.]
[Alex isn't so relieved to see hear that voice, but he doesn't look the type to reject it either; two pairs of eyes, it's not hard to tell. Breathing in, he doesn't look up to the feed.]
It seems that you couldn't. In fact, it would sound as though you were but an accidental relative to the situation...he clearly possessed ideas that would have enveloped him regardless of whether you were a person in his life. [The boy rests his chin in his hands.] You were really just one of any of us, weren't you?
To an extent. We keep no secrets, but he is ever subtle as to what he shares. [Klarion's eyes lower.] Alex, he was possessed by an idea you had no hand in creating. To avoid being dragged in, you would have simply paved the way for another to fall in that hole instead.
Would it have been easier if you'd avoided it? Quite. Would it have changed his path? Doubtful.
[The boy looks up.] What, then, does it serve you to think on these things, I wonder?
Then in that sense it could have been worse, right. Damn his want of eternity, whatever he meant by it. [A more sensible nod this time, and he actually does look to the other two on the feed.]
Ah, you mean why do I still dream on it? It was a more recent memory, to be honest. Not even a week before I arrived here.
[His eyes widen.] So soon? So very soon after such a thing! Hm. I would dream of it also. That is no comfortable thing to remember so soon.
[He smiles, slow and long.] If it were another, I would think more on it...but Teekl tells me that for you there is no need to either fear or pity, and I believe him. Instead, I think I should ask how to be as solid as you, to be troubled by such an undeserved, foolish storm and to travel past it without becoming troubling.
It sure isn't - this place doesn't hold back for anyone, no matter circumstances. [The smile throws him off but in return Alex leans in to the feed, knees drawn up as he listens. Unbeknownst to the three of them, the only reason Alex hasn't been corrupted is because he's been pulled into this place, the influence of Nigel has been severed, but only temporarily, until he returns home. Until then Alex refuses to yield, and makes it through to forget.]
How? That's a rather difficult question. I've always had a tendency to question authority, maybe that plays a part of it. [He pauses.] ... You make it through the storm by reassuring yourself that it's over, that's the best way I can say it.
[Teekl has been watching Alex, unblinking, unemotional; something seems to have satisfied him, however, for he breaks his stare to climb into Klarion's lap and press up lovingly under the boy's throat. Klarion strokes the cat's orange jaw, and for that brief distracted moment they are both a picture of contentment.[]
And it is over; there's other things to draw our attentions now, things neither of us deserved more than you deserved Nigel. [Scooping Teekl into his arms, he grins.] Things we are well-equipped to handle, yes?
[Alex seems to relax at the scene - all the while he's cursing himself for letting the two this close because it's well.. it's unnerving, if he can say that at least.]
A justified point, and one I can hardly argue with. [He nods, cracks a smile at that, even.] How are the two of you doing? With some luck it seems this week hasn't caught up to you.
We are well! It seems most of Facility is not---have you seen what insanity has crept over our communications? Any number of traumas and dark dealings. It is unnerving. It cannot be healthy to be so perpetually locked in such dreadful places in your head that dark things would be so readily brought forth...
Ah, but we have each other, Teekl and I, and we are not afraid of dark places. [He was looking down at his cat, lips quirked at the edges in a small smile, but he looks up to Alex with deeply confident eyes, non-verbally drawing him into the group.] We will all take care of each other, as is our custom.
I have, and it probably isn't, considering now it's all on the feed for everyone to see, no matter what. Good to see that it hasn't picked up on both of you though, if anything.
[His lips tug up at the last part and he seems sincere, nods his head in agreement.] An admirable tradition, I think I'm on board for that, if the two of you are involved at least.
What do you wish you had done differently?

He's dead, I can't change much about it.

[A pause.] But Klarion, he was the one that pulled the trigger. How could I have changed anything in his head?

[One of us? He doesn't know anymore, but he'll try to nod.] Teekl told you then, huh?

Say, would you be up to doing anything later, or next week? [A skip in beat.]
