Miles Edgeworth ❖ Turnabout Facility, Day Five -- Audio Record

Jun 14, 2011 19:48

[His voice sounds a bit worn and somewhat concerned, but is otherwise his calm-levelheaded self. This is one prosecutor who is keeping well away from the drunk shenanigans.]Is there no water left at all in this place? I'm aware some of the doctors had addressed the possibility of dehydration, which to be honest is seeming fairly likely. I happened ( Read more... )

Haha, no need to be so formal. I have some spare bottles so you can have one or two. Anything to help out others, since I'm sure a few less bottles won't kill me or anything. [He uses them for working out, which he hasn't done since injured.]

[Not sure Miles appreciate you calling people out to harass him.]

Basically, yes. I've worked in the field more then enough. [No problem. Like Miles would believe he's some caped vigilante anyways.]

I know how much water I can or can't go for the week. It's not healthy for the body necessarily, but I definitely know how to work with little to none resources. I mean, we have less then a week now, and I know a few people who I can ask to assist if I do end up needing more. No need to worry.

All I'm really doing is lying in bed most of my time right now. I'm avoiding the lectures of doing stupid things as long as possible. Running around while injured is under that list.

[Probably not, but I have to get him CR somehow, or else he'd just stay in his room and read through the facility library while avoiding most social interaction. He'd do it, too. At least I'm encouraging a nice guy to harass him instead of someone like, idk, the Marauders.

He's probably better off believing the police officer thing anyway. It's a more identifiable term for him and helps him sort of understand what kind of person Dick is, as well as saying something about his character.] I'm a prosecutor, so that's a field I'm fairly familiar with. [Though to be fair, he also ends up playing detective at times, too.

Knowing that he's a police officer (or so he believes) makes him more inclined to believe the other's explanation. He takes a pair of bottles off the table, nodding in gratitude.] Thank you. If there's anything I can do to help you, please don't hesitate to ask. [He's not the type of person to be alright with feeling indebted to a person.]

[The other being a prosecutor does poke at some old memories. It's not like he can forget. He watched a district attorney die because of his naivety as a kid. But the other doesn't need to know that. It goes back to the whole vigilante thing.] I've worked with attorneys a few times. Sounds like a job I wouldn't be good at. Defending people on the streets is different in court. And snooping around is something I enjoy more often then not anyways.

[He laughs a little. A playful chuckle.] If I need anything, I'll ask. But I really think you've already paid the favor. I enjoy helping people out.

[He doesn't notice any discomfort on the subject if Dick showed any.] It's true they're different jobs, but I'd hardly be able to do my job properly without the support of our police force and detectives. I'm sure your attorneys would feel the same. [Well, at least the ones who have as good intentions as Edgeworth...

He frowns a bit, not agreeing that they're square, but he's found it's best at times to not keep pressing the issue.] If you insist. [He takes a step back towards the door as he makes to leave.] I hope you recover from those injuries quickly.

I'm glad that you guys trust us so much. It makes the job much more worthwhile when we do things correctly. But I guess it makes things more personal, knowing that people trust us. [And Dick would never want to destroy that trust.]

[Dick does really admire people who do it. Just, he can't. He needs something more thrilling apparently.] I will. Thanks. Please stay safe and don't get drunk.
