[redripoff]

Hello? He-hello? [He's not paying attention to the camera as he broadcasts, wandering lackadaisically around his room. Lifting bed spreads, searching pants pockets, flipping through papers. He picks up a knife that was lying on the desk, makes a foul face, and sets it back gingerly.] Anyone? Please, is--can anyone tell me what's happening?

[That's.... new.]

Is your head on straight, Tim?

[faultlesscon]

[Alex isn't so big a psychology buff as he is with history, but he knows enough. The reset idea kicks in and he tilts his head, moves to lean against the door.] You've been here a few months, so not realizing what happened recently is disturbing - you're not saying enough to make me believe you've amnesia though, or that you're a good actor.

[A pause.] So what's on your mind?

[redripoff]

Ah, this exact moment? I'm just curious what I would need to say to convince you I have amnesia--which I don't. But the fact that you're my age and you think you can diagnose serious psychological disorders is laughable. No offense.

[faultlesscon]

You don't remember your time here, and you're not acting like the Tim that I met here, that's why. [He shakes his head.]

Chances that you probably know more than I do in terms of that are high.

[redripoff]

Psychology's not really my thing. [He turns, back to the mirror, and hops up so that he's sitting on the counter.] So are we friends?

Tim that question what the hell

[faultlesscon]

We... know each other - not completely what your thoughts are on me.

You think I'm a ticking time bomb, last I checked.

it's his dreeeeam and he can ask what he wants to! You would ask too if it happened to you!

[redripoff]

[He laughs, leaning back against the mirror.] Wow. How cool of me. So, we're not friends, but...you're helping me out?

no I wouldn't okay yeah just a little but what the hell.

[faultlesscon]

[A shrug.] I care, to some extent, the same goes to you no matter how disturbed you think me to be.

That's...Acquaintances, I believe.

[redripoff]

I can wrap my mind around that. [Tucks his chin around the cold compress.] So apparently this place does "experiments." Enlighten me?

[faultlesscon]

Maybe one day we'll be friends, it's all up to you. [A nod.]

Straight out of a bad science-fiction film, this place can do anything and everything imaginable due to the group of people who've brought us here. Last week there was no running water, only alcohol. Another week, everyone had super-sensitive hearing, and so on.

[redripoff]

And how do we get out?

[faultlesscon]

That's a question without an answer, as it stands.

It's more like we get by.

[redripoff]

But--what about people's families? What about their lives?

[faultlesscon]

You read any Dodgson? Might know him better as Lewis Carroll but it could be something like that - time never continued when you left, so on, things like that.

[redripoff]

Huh. Alright--but at the end of Alice's story, it was all a dream. That's hopeful, anyway.

[faultlesscon]

It's a terrible, long dream if that's the case. [He shrugs.] How's the pain?
