Everything is different this week, right? [She's spoken to enough people to figure out that not everyone is suffering the same effects.]

Who's still themself? [She stares at the video as if she's seeing right through it, idly sitting on her bed.] It would be good to know. [Maka cuts the feed without another word.]

Something wrong? [A pause.] I'm unaffected.

Alex? You remember who you are and what world you're from? [Pause.] And you're male?

Nothi-yes. [Damn it.] It doesn't matter.

[faultlesscon]

I'm male, I'm not ten years older nor younger, I don't have a bomb strapped to my chest.

It matters enough to bother you, so I would say otherwise.

No one gets nothing. They don't work that way. Be careful, okay?

I mean it doesn't matter because nothing can change it. [She lowers her eyes a little.] I've been here a really long time.

[faultlesscon]

You as well--what did they do? [There's a frown, a furrowing of his brows.] Doesn't get easier, does it.

...I can't lie. That's my experiment for the week. But it would take too long to hear the truth, and there's no point.

So then what I'm hearing is what you really believe, then?

... I'm coming over. What's your room number?

[togana_keiri]

...you don't have to. [She hasn't answered, but the collar on her neck says 38 A]

[faultlesscon]

I know I don't--I want to. [That's right down the hall--lucky him.] You going to turn me away if I knock?

[togana_keiri]

...I won't. I'll see you in a few minutes then.

[faultlesscon]

Got it. [And there's your knock, a few minutes later.]

[She opens the door momentarily, pushing her loose hair out of the way to give him a nod of greeting.]

Hey. [She probably looks like she hasn't slept much, and is possibly a little more pale than usual. he'll also notice that the room is twice the size of normal ones because the wall has been knocked down to connect two rooms. The other half of the room however, is empty.]

[faultlesscon]

[He does get a look at the room, and the size it compared with how she looks is concerning enough. He makes a face.] You've looked better. What's on your mind?

[togana_keiri]

[Her eyes swivel momentarily to the empty bed across from hers and then to the floor for a second before she leads him into the room, closing the door behind him.]

A lot. I'm not sure if you really want to hear details.

[faultlesscon]

[Following after, Alex keeps his hands in his pockets.] Is that so? I'm not sure you want to tell me anything at all.

[togana_keiri]

[She sits on the edge of her bed, leaving room if he wants to sit there or the chair.]

This isn't about telling you or not telling you at all. I wouldn't even know where to start. Do you want to know why I'm upset? It's not so easy to explain. It's not just one thing. It's everything. It's this hell.
