How I got a free beer...and other tales!

On Thursday night, my friend and co-worker turned 21, so we all went out and got really drunk. I mean...REALLY drunk. It all started at Finn's on the Ave. We sat and drank and the bartender made my friend a 'mind-eraser' (2 shots of kalhua with 2 shots of vodka floating on top of it in a pint glass of ice) and told him to drink it in 5 seconds. He did. We sat on the balcony because it was fairly muggy inside. There was a man outside on the bike rack that had taken ecstacy and acid. He was tripping balls and all of the drunk people were entertained. We proceeded to Earl's, also known as Hurls...for obvious reasons, if you have ever been there. I tried to play pool. I had stopped drinking at that point, but all of the drinks I had in me, plus the trying of other people's made connecting with the ball near impossible. I stopped before I cared how embarrassed I was. We then left. I ended up home, eventually...pretty drunk and really tired.

Friday, I was very domestic. Well, I was only really half domestic because I baked a lot and made a big mess...but didn't clean it up. I baked cupcakes to take to work in the evening and I made 'chocolate-covered caramel wands' for betsy's Harry Potter Party. I went to that, and I had a pretty good time. My treats were a big hit, and I didn't feel as unwelcome as I had ex[ected to feel. I got my Harry Potter book shortly after midnight (but not at midnight because I didn't win the costume contest...wizard trying to dress like a muggle...I thought it was creative. After getting our books, Courtney, Marie, and I hit the car, sang really loud, and then I got pulled over by a cop. Dampened our spirits a bit and freaked me the hell out. Even though it's summer and it was 12:30am...you can't go 35 through campus (Speed Limit = 20). I got a warning though, so it was good. I read until I couldn't stay awake anymore and then I got up and went to work in the morning.

Most of Saturday, except a few late afternoon/evening hours were spent reading. I got home from work though and went to have dinner and drinks with some people. As I was heading to the bus stop, I saw the sign outside of the 'alehouse' that said "Free beer if you can define Esperanto". I had 8 minutes, so I figured I would go in and do it! And I did. But the definition that I had (the language that was created to be the universal language...even though no one ever learned it) and the bartender's definition (the language that william shatner spoke in that one movie) were different. He still gave me a beer. I drank it in 5 minutes...to his surprise. I left him a dollar and went to catch my bus. I had dinner at this place called Mama's Mexican Kitchen in Belltown. It was pretty tasty. I was bummed to find that I left my leftovers in my friends car later. We also had beer at a place a couple doors down called Shorty's Coney Island. They had pinball and other games. I love pinball, but I lost twice, which made me sad and bruised my ego. At least I usually beat my brother. We then moved on to a hookah bar where I smoked a lot and tried turkish coffee(sludge) and baklava both for the first time. Baklava will happen again, but I might drink juice next time. I was gone for 6 hours total...and then it was back to Harry. I finished the book at 3:40 in the morning. I want to read it again. And I might.

All day Sunday and all day today, I was bored as hell at work. I read a dirty and disturbing version of Sleeping Beauty by Anne Rice and I think I will pick up some of my other books I have been meaning to read. I think I will buy the HP's I don't have so that I can read them whenever the hell I want to as well. I will be doing some traveling soon. I should book my hotel room in Costa Rica. Busy summer it will be...just like I thought. Maybe even more.
