Aging Kitties

So both my cats are now a little over 15 years old, and it's hard for me not to be aware (possibly hyper-aware) of their mortality. Saturday, I brought Audrey in to the vet because she seemed to be losing weight/getting more boney, and I was concerned she might have a hyperthyroid condition, since her last tests indicated she might be heading that ( Read more... )

Some vets will also make house calls for that. We did that with Louis, in the end.

BTW cats get fatty masses under their skin all the time, lipomas, which are harmless.

Worrying about the kitties is hard. We've got the two who are 16, the two who are 10, and my little one who is 3. With the eldest pair, anything odd is cause for alarm, which means lots of worry. We had a scare recently with our old girl that turned out to be much less worrisome than we initially perceived.

*hugz* I don't have any good advice on how to avoid the worrying part, unfortunately. Here's hoping that all will be well with your kitties!
