They are just really nice people, you know? And all 4 get along splendidly. They spent this past Saturday at some spa thing together.

It happens so fast. I was telling someone in my office today about my BIL's wedding - Aaron was the ring bearer and Zachary had 2 weeks left to be born.

How is yours doing?

I am totally giving Scarlet that line, re marriage, to use because it is her.

So glad they are doing so well. No wonder though, given who there mom is!!

Zachary has such a dry sense of humor. Is Scarlet done with college yet?

Yes! A year ago. Did a one year paid internship in Toronto and now works for a law firm as a business writer. She loved the job but it was stressful. This one is giving her relief from the stories they would send her on including all the dead and dying children, and the terrorist event to point out a few. She knew journalism was dying, sort of, so she knew this would probably happen.

That's why Zachary is currently working for an online magazine even though print is his first love. Scarlet made a good choice.

What a great update. And what fantastic men you've raised. They've both very impressive. You must be so proud!

I am proud, I have to admit. But proudest they are genuinely nice people.

How's the writing gig going?

Genuinely nice people is absolutely nothing to scoff at. Hella important and says something vital about them.

The writing gig is going well, thanks. First series has 5 books. Newer series just released the third book in November. Kensington contracted with us again for 2 new hardcover releases and we handed book four in just before Christmas, so that will be out next fall. I'm also working on a solo project, so we'll see where that goes. Busy all round as that's on top of the full time day job in the lab, but I'm working toward early retirement and writing full time. The next three to four years will be hardcore series and reader building (although that's already well on its way) so it's going to be crazy-making, but I can already see the light at the end of the tunnel. It's way out there, but it is there.

The two of them still make me laugh a lot. Aaron made cheesy homemade Hanukah cards for everyone. Mine said "Have a way2cool Hanukah" and way2cool was cut out from who knows where and pasted on.
