Question Time: Harley's Finest Moment (DCU)

Nov 02, 2009 20:35

In lieu of a proper update due to various real life nonsense, I thought I'd post a quick question.  So here it is:  Harley's had a fair few guest spots and storylines since she made her first appearance in mainstream DCU, what's your favourite thus far and why?

Anyone one feel like sharing?

Probably HARLEY QUINN #1, when she went after the Joker for A. trying to shoot her, and B. actually shooting Ivy.

Sincerely, Allaine

P.S. Oh yeah, and there was something else, I forget . . . something involving a wet towel :P

You mean the Timm/Dini Harley & Ivy? That's one of my favourites too. It's in my top five DCAU titles, it's such a fun comic.

What's your fav mainstream appearance?

Yeah, that issue was definitely one of her stronger appearances within DCU. She came off more well rounded and there was a lot more substance to her personality than just 'cutesy cartoon character'. It's just a shame that Dini seems to have backpeddled on that - and on a fair few other things as well.

Tec 831 is certainly in the top five along with a few issues from her series. I thought in a few instances, as flawed as the series sometimes was, that Kesel did a great job of adding a little bit of history to the character and taking her out of her comfort zone. The Metropolis arc was a hoot. Again, it's a shame most writers have forgotten all about it.

In the TPB Harley Quinn: Preludes and Knock-Knock Jokes, the party. The party with Poison Ivy and all the other female bad guys in the DCU. That just had me rolling on the floor laughing. I think that was one of her best moments ever.
