While Ivy was there because of GCS, I felt the execution of the Harley and Ivy reunion was clunky because, for the most part, they've been going in polar opposite directions for a while now.
Ivy's been firmly in the pure black hat camp for a couple of years without any kind of development, unlike the rest of the characters in GCS. It seemed too sudden a shift in Ivy's personality for her to turn up at Harley's door and suddenly give a damn about anything that wasn't a plant.
If they wanted to turn her into another anti-hero, then they should have built it up over a few issues. Her appearance in Underground just came off as akward and forced. She didn't fit into the story.
maybe, just maybe, Harley and Ivy's reunion was supposed to be clunky. I mean, if Dini did say that he wants Harley to grow as a character, her reunion with Ivy wouldn't exactly be one of hugs, kisses and gossip. It was meant to be icy which could be a leeway into GCS.That's what bothers me about that scene. I wasn't getting any bad vibes or ice from that scene at all. I think it was just bad writing. The whole thing came across like Ivy had just nipped out to the corner shop for a minute and upon her return she discovers that Harley's become BFF with Riddler. Shenanigans ensue

I also thought Eddie looked far too pretty.
But as I said, I didn't hate it.
