Yes, better safe than sorry! It's just weird to see some people on my flist who aren't in fandom not being aware of what's happening. I should sleep, but I can't, I'm too afraid to see what'll happen next. :/ *clings*

Yes, I guess we just attract attention from the wrong kind of people. :( And all this has caused is probably that the real predators have gone even more into hiding. (And seriously, if you were a paedophile, would you really list it in your userinfo?)

I fully agree. From what I've heard, the way they're doing it is not the way to do it if you want to catch the real pervs. I better go to bed now, it's 2.30 am. So much for wanting to go to bed before midnight tonight. :(

You've probably already read it other places now, but there have been suspensions of some comms and ljs. Most notably pornish_pixies, but also a survivor of child abuse. (I kid you not.) People suspect that a vigilante organisation, which I'm not going to link to here, has reported comms and ljs they suspect belong to paedophiles to LJ Abuse. Sure, it seems that some comms by molestors have been suspended, but it also took many innocent people with it. :(

It was just easier for me to do a blanket-locking of my journal last night than going through four years of entries to decide what should stay open and what should be locked. And I removed my ship-icons and any HP-interests from my userinfo.

This is so insane and horrifying, I'm feeling quite speechless myself. As well as tired, since it got a little too late last night. :(
