Nope, Bell Sympatico whatever-the-fastest-one-is-called. Rogers has yet to penetrate the Quebec market. (Man, that sounded so drrty.) I can normally get at least 50 kbps, but sometimes it's just downright wonky... we're talking a few hundred bps. >_
Some commercial apps are starting to rely on the Bittorrent protocol now too. I'd be pretty annoyed if I played WoW for instance. Those patches aren't small, and you aren't using your software until you get it.
Very true. I also saw somewhere that the recent 'packet shaping' measures have been interfering with the iTunes music store or something.
People on the DSLreports forum where I found the port 1720 tip were talking about trying whatever port XBox Live uses. I think that'll be next once Rogers clues into 1720.
Oh fuck no. I pay for that service and Live is greedy enough as it is without being throttled. Rogers actively advertises as a partner of Live, so it might be spared. Wishful thinking most likely though ):
