Jan 08, 2011 11:56

[The feed is turned on and the device tumbled a moment as Quetzalcoatl finds the best spot to prop it on. When he is satisfied, he steps backward to show the Barge his full, though scrawny, resplendance, complete with paint (the Doctor will not be happy to see the state of the TARDIS wardrobe when all of this is over). For a brief moment, he ( Read more... )

[Guess who else has been having doubts.] If there is no Sun, then there is no point to your sacrifice either.

[He looks up to the device again, and offers a benevolent smile.]

You forget, Turquoise Lord, that I have been the Sun. To sacrifice me would be the right thing, for I would both give my blessing, and be honoured to die.

Perhaps. But you are not that here. You are him here. And he may drift through the stars, but he is not the Sun.

That is why he needs me to complete this balance.

[Coyolxauhqui is looking just a little annoyed with you, Feathered Serpent.]

Quetzalcoatl. Dearest and most Precious Brother. Lord of the Dawn, Lord of the Wind.

[She frowns]

Quetzalcoatl, your ways are not our ways.

[He remains adamant.]

Neither are theirs.

It is unacceptable, and my answer is no.

Our brothers have specific demands.

[Lineface. And then he reaches for the gadget to do the 'private' thing he learned yesterday.]

[Private]

You have summoned them, and us, to your own ends, as you summoned them before. If they carry anger, and if they find your offering lacking? If they take your heart after, sister, or leave you broken? You mustn't... [what?] I can't... [argh.]

it is unwise.

[He doesn't look fazed in the slightest, but he does pause for a second or so.]

But it is our will and so our right, and it is a... chance. Is this not the way of your family? Cauhtictehuilotl, cauhticecatl, brother in glass, brother in the wind?

(( Sorry for ALL THE EDITS argh ))

Brothers both in jade, perhaps. [A sad smile, but it falters moments later.] Monotzontli has shown me the codices. These are all my beloved children, that I bled to bring forth, and these are my brothers, my sisters, but we do not belong here. I would give myself to save you all, and to take her home, as would Monotzontli. He is Four Hundred Reflections, of four hundred hearts. It is enough. I... would not see her harmed. None of them.

If they do not understand, then she should make them listen, brother. You speak foolish words from a foolish heart.

Where is your strength?

My strength is in my knowledge, brother. My heart is strong, in halves and reflections. We offer as a whole what is not in her possession to give.

This is not your concern. You arrived on a wind as wayward as mine, and while you steeped yourself in temptation, I have watched and learned.

Your passive ways will teach you nothing. You must learn by doing.

She can give as she wishes. These people are warriors, as they have fought against our brothers. And they deserve a warrior's sending.

But if you wish to sacrifice yourself, I will not stop you. But I will also not hesitate to take back what was rightfully mine in the first place.

And what is it that you think is rightfully yours, my brother?

Don't be ridiculous.

Brother of my brother. Of Monotzontli, Four Hundred Reflections, and the spirits of four hundred hearts. His will is his own, and his offer was willing and honourable. There is nothing ridiculous in this.

But be at ease. My beloved sister has turned away our offering. It was unfit.
