[He does not want to talk to you. But he's going to do so, anyway. Because at least you're taking responsibility.]

I believe credit ought to be given where it's due. You erred. So be it. You may be blamed for a mistake others have made and will continue to make here.

Morgan Adams, I note, has taken most vocal issue with you. I will remind you her own inmate instigated a riot which...

[He snorts.]

Morgan Adams has no right to cast aspersions on your judgment or character.

Yes, Doctor, you deserve some manner of blame - but not what has been heaped upon you. It is merely reactionary commentary. Ignore it.

You seem to be quite capable of recognizing what you have - and have not - done.

[There's a long pause.]

Removing her powers treats a symptom. Anyone who suggests otherwise is wrong. She will eventually regain them. The true test of rehabilitation is to discover whether she is still the penitent once she is whole.

I speak from experience.

I suggest you bear that in mind.

Thank you, Professor. Abrasive you may be, but you're sensible nonetheless, and laudably wise ( ... )

I think you would do well to assume that many who have not responded with such brazen words may be silent for a reason. Time is needed, or clarity - or, of course, the simplest explanation: they feel as I do. You hold some manner of blame, but that we ought not lose sight of the person responsible. Personal responsibility is of the utmost importance.

I - admittedly respect a man who will readily accept blame for his action or inaction.

As to the latter, rescinding powers is feasible. It is not wise. If a man uses words to incite violence, you teach him. You don't punish him by removing his ability to speak. For many of us, our abilities to perform magic are as natural and innate as breathing. To remove those abilities may only serve to make us more dangerous - what have we left to lose?

But, as you say, she had no powers to begin. It hardly matters, in that event. Your inmate is yours to handle as you see fit; you are correct to take the majority of what may come with a grain of salt.

Everyone has an opinion.

Oh! My apologies; I misunderstood you at the outset, I believe. No, I wouldn't take the silver from her tongue, even if I had the ability to. There's a measure of livelihood that must be maintained for anyone to stay intact, be it in magic, celestial endowment or really, any force of energy. Magic, say, to you, or Time to me... I don't like to think about what I'd become. [Yeeeah, sometimes he has almost-future-dreams about that sort of thing.]

I'll keep your advice close and at the ready, on all counts.

Do look after yourself, won't you? She... death is perhaps a phase here, but it rends some of those around it irreparably, despite their best efforts.

[Don't do what he kept doing :c ]

[And when he comes back to respond, he sounds forty shades of better.]

oon enough, any time you'd like, Dr. Harding. Once I've got a bit of tea in me, I've an appointment in the library, but perhaps in a few hours, over dinner perhaps? I'm just about due for a meal, I think, and my TARDIS is recovering.

Sure, I'd love to have dinner with you.

...What's a TARDIS?

The TARDIS is my ship. Her name stands for Time and Relative Dimensions in Space. You may find that most, if not all of me, have a version of her.

For what it's worth...I don't blame you at all. We are responsible for our inmates, yes, but we also have to do what's right for them. Poor decision or not, you did what you thought was right...and no one can fault you for it.

In hindsight, I may well have done what was right for her from the beginning, but I would never have done it had I known what it would cost the rest of you. Nevertheless, thank you for your understanding.

Of course they do. You always do.

I don't think it's your fault. And knowing you, you'll punish yourself enough that I don't really see the point in anyone else getting mad at you.

Perhaps. My concern isn't for myself, however.

Well, I know, but...mine is, and you were possessed just like...well, a lot of us.

We certainly were... but we weren't injured, or killed. Many more were. You should worry for them, as you and I are clearly intact.

Well.

I'm up and around. Yesterday was a bit restless but equilibrium has returned.
