[He's not touching the beryllium thing, particularly after his conversation with Brax happening to dovetail with that exact issue, because there is fair too much angst in his life right now.] Actually, could you bring him a fourteenth century Venetian glass? I think that was what it was, I was possessed at the time. It wouldn't be authentic if I asked the Admiral.

That happens to be one of the first on my list, actually. He was a bit grumbly about it.

I'm sure he was. You have my permission, of course.

[He decides to ignore the description of Five's experiments for now. As he finds it a little fishy. Not to mention the bloody bandages he noticed in his lab..]

I'm sure he's fine, too. Doesn't mean I don't want to make sure. It's Satellite Five. Was a big news station, then it turned into the game show station from hell. And, please don't encourage the flirting.

[Have a sigh. He's still pretending he thinks the robot is pointless. But secretly, he totally loves it to pieces.] Just how many of these things are you planning to make? We very well could be on the verge of a dancing plushy robot uprising.

Of course I won't, but I hardly think he'd wait for encouragement. [snrk.]

I've got no idea. That one was a prototype, of course; I don't intend to make them all dance if I make more at all, but a base would be preferable. I could easily alter it from the foundation to achieve some exciting variations.

[Silence, then he seems slightly flustered.] He's-That's not-... Just don't let him continue past the initial point. It's just embarrassing. [No, Nine didn't flirt back at all. Not at all.]

You gonna make one knit or play guitar next?

[If you could see his eyebrows, man, they'd be UP.]

And I forget, Doctor, do we blush? At any rate, no, at least not for a long time. I've yet to master animatronics to that degree, but perhaps we can make a project of it.

I will be happy to watch over her, Doctor. Might it be possible for me to borrow your Item during your absence? I don't anticipate a need for it, but it would be best to be prepared.

Thank you very much, and you certainly may. It's a bit useless as a communication device, I must warn you: when I first arrived, I attempted to merge it with something else and damaged some of it. It still functions as a monitoring item, however; I'll familiarise you with the indicators before I leave.

Speaking of... I'll have a time ship and a Universe at my disposal, to an extent. Is there anything you'd like me to bring back to you? Anything at all?

Thank you.

[A pause. It's sort of bewildering to be offered a souvenir from anywhere across space and time. And really, he's tempted to ask him to go and make sure Abigail is okay, but he knows that what's true in one moment of time might not be true in the next and it won't come as much consolation.]

I'm grateful for the offer, but I believe it will be enough for you to return safely.

[This is the part where he smiles; it can be heard at least.]

Not even tea? But yes, of that I can assure you. Thank you for the well wishing, my friend. I'll see you again soon.

I promise nobody'll end up in the infirmary if he does his job properly.

...That's an interesting choice of metal, by the way. And I imagine the refining process is a little bit of both of the above.

I'd rather you promise to restrain yourself regardless, as we both know he probably won't do it properly if at all.

I've always been fond of beryllium. Quite dependable on a massive scale, though a bit troublesome for tabletop projects. If you've still got your equipment, I may simply give these pieces to you to experiment with. Supervised, of course.

I wasn't entirely serious. I have ways of making him do some work as it is.

I'd quite appreciate that, but as you can tell, I'm currently having some issues with supervision, as it is.

Oh, I know you do. I still haven't heard the end of that.

Not to worry, friend. It will be sorted out soon enough, one way or another.

[Probably for the better. He just might be running away from having to think about all that (at least temporarily) by doing this, but WHO KNOWS.]

Marvellous. I may or may not be absconding with a time traveller as I go. Aside from Orion, any recommendations?
