OOC: Slade hunt discussion.

Apr 01, 2006 23:27

So I've come to the conclusion that I do want Slade to die in this event. It's up to us to determine how. Rose will also take part, but I'm thinking that she should live, but it's up to her mun as to what happens with her ( Read more... )

OH NOES!

Vash intends to help hunt Slade down, though he hopes to get there first. He doesn't want Slade dead and really will try to prevent it from happening. So I suppose as soon as he helps after the hunt and to help bring Slade down, he'll try to also be sure that Slade lives -- which means Vash is going to be a bit complicated in this respect and will need to be held back at some point.

((Vash and Ryu on the "catch but don't kill" end of the spectrum, Samus on the "hold still, it'll only hurt 'til you're vapor" end... I'm looking forward to the mess this is going to make.))

Excellent! That makes things considerably easier when it comes to finding Slade, then.

((That it does. In terms of combat, Samus has recognized Robin's tie to Raven as closer than her own, meaning she'll hang back in the fight with Slade until it looks like Robin can't finish the job (if it comes to that). Her arsenal as I've been playing it up to this point combines elements of the arsenal in Super Metroid, Metroid Prime, and the melee style from Super Smash Bros. and Super Smash Bros. Melee. Missiles, concussive force, electrical pulses, cryogenic gel, plasma (lots and lots of plasma)... there's a reason as a player I'll be trying to hang back. The kinds of firepower and defenses that are canon for Samus beg for some very ugly escalation.))

Since I play Robin, my problem is working him into this. Roleplaying with myself is something that scares me to death. I might have him focus more on fighting Rose and let others fight Slade, even though I really would like Robin to duel Slade.

Don't worry, Slade'll have plenty of robots for Samus to rip appart with her heavy weaponry. :P

I'm middling on posting order. I know it prevents confusion, but it can also cut down creativity.

For Dlet, all I know is how she fights, which is animalistically, slashing and biting, with the added bonus of fire-breath. She can think in in a fight, but when adrenaline's rushing and she reallyreally hates a person, she doesn't always.

This is true. If possible, as opposed to a posting order, I'd really like to get everyone together either in the JCN IRC channel tomorrow or in an AIM chat while this is going on.

AIM's better for me because I can't seem to get onto the IRC channel. I can try again if it's what everyone else can do, though.

Tom attacks with ranged weapons, but he's also very vulnerable short-range due to his lack of powers and physical health. And, he's too proud to admit it, so he'll likely be reckless about getting in the line of fire. I'm perfectly willing to have him get hurt, if it plays out that way, but only if it won't come off as forced or anything of the kind.

I think an AIM chat is best, mainly because most people have that - if not, could there be a transcript for those who don't know jack about IRC?

It seems like an AIM chat is going to be the way to go.

Well, considering that the Rose player is planning on having the character packing some serious weaponry... Yeah, I'm expecting people to get hurt, and I hope people don't come into this thinking their characters won't get a scratch, heh.

Some characters might not, depending on their stats and what character they are, I think, so yes, best make it clear that unless someone is Damn Good, they'll likely get beat up a bit.

Since Rose has been pumped full of Deathstroke's ACTH, killing her off will only work for a few hours. Unless she's vaporized, which I wouldn't like.

She's going to be bringing some heavy firepower to this fight. Minigun, grenades, assault shotgun, swords, shuriken, daggers.

Her powers at this point include insanely fast reflexes, the only person in this group who's probably faster is Vash, inhuman strength, speed, and endurance, very short-term precognition, and a very, very slow healing factor. Wolverine, she is not.

Rose wants her daddy to live. She's probably going to get her ass kicked once she's out of bullets and explosives.
