I am sorry to hear the news about your cousin.
It can metastasize at any time given all it takes is one
cell which recreates the problem, e.g. in 2003
when I had my brain tumor removed they told me that
whenever a tumor is sliced and diced, it just takes one cell

Metastasize. That's the word I was looking for. That's what happened. Last time it was in his kidney..and they got it. The doctors told him now that it metastasized. and still is because it's spreading everywhere. :/

Yes I had two in '03 ....they did not get all of it first go around............
Is it why I understand the dreary terminology now.
I lost most of the vital hormone making glands as a result .......and what they did not remove collapsed as a result of the one they did remove........so now live on drugs which keep me alive, literally.
I am very sorry to hear of the cancer metastasizing. That is often what happens. All it takes is one cell that escapes, something that cannot be controlled no matter how skilled the surgeon is.
