Jun 30, 2005 23:29

Harry is still worrying over what he saw in the Penseive while Hermione is worrying over Harry not having any more Occlumency Lessons. Harry really just wants to talk to Sirius and Ginny thinks she may be able to help him. In the meantime, 5th years are being scheduled for Career Advice Sessions with their Heads of House. Ron and Hermione have been called the bickering couple, but Harry and Hermione are the bickering couple now. Well, maybe you wouldn't call it bickering, but they're at odds. I can see Ron wanting Harry to decide what to do himself, but I wouldn't appreciate a friend withholding their point of view.

Yeah, not so much bickering as Hermione berating Harry, and Harry ignoring her. She even tries emotional blackmail ala Lupin (making his parents'/Dumbledore's sacrifice meaningless). I don't think Harry minds Ron withholding his point of view, given that he never asked for it. And, well, Harry doesn't tend to get persuaded, anyway. If his friends don't approve, he just does it without telling them. You can really only change how he does whatever he's set on.

It certainly seems like Sirius and Lupin know the reason Occlumency is needed, and yet they offer no further explanation. And if only Sirius had asked why Harry didn't use the mirror, things would have turned out differently.I don't quite get why Lupin makes a fuss about talking ( ... )

Yeah, Sirius and Lupin make a fuss about talking to Snape and nothing happens. The question is: why, oh why, didn't they come to DD? I believe that they could comunicate with him (otherwise the Order would suffer a great deal, since DD calls the shots), and yet... DD is the big boss of the Order, but nobody comes to him when they need a figure of authority in a difficult situation (i.e., convince Snape to teach Occlumency again). I don't get it. The responsibility to ease Snape ends up falling on Harry's shoulder. The result is obvious: fat chace. It's easy to Hermione to nag about it, because Snape IS really scary. (By the way, Harry, I'm with you: give the silent treatment anyday!).

I'm kinda affronted that all you need to work with Muggles is an O.W.L in Muggle Studies. Don't you guys feel a little disrespected?

Oh, the twins! My favorite scene in the whole series! *dances*

Well, nagging is always easier, but Hermione also does the same thing about Harry speaking to Dumbledore -- but she's never approached Dumbledore about the enslaved House-Elves.

Not really, actually. I mean, how useful is Transfiguration, Potions, or Herbology really going to be if you're just a liason to Partliament, or help guide around new muggleborns? I think an O in History of Magic might be good in addition, but the real problem is that Muggle studies is a joke of a class.

* Harry could not imagine Fred and George dangling someone upside-down for the fun of it…not unless they really loathed them…perhaps Malfoy, or somebody who really deserved it.

No, they send them anywhere because of points. So, if I hate someone enough, I can humiliate them?

* Why the egg had this effect? Voldy is allergic to chocolate?

* I know it’s bad, and I want to slap Snape’s hand with a “bad Severus, bad, no cookies for you tonight”, but, hmm, the whoops make me laugh.

* He has achieved high marks in all Defence Against the Dark Arts test set by a competent teacher.

I actually laugh out loud when I read it the first time.

* …a large suit of armour whose helmet creaked around to watch him.
No wonder DD knows nearly all what happen in the school, with the armours and the portraits as spies.

* Every one asks why Harry forget Sirius’ gift, but why Sirius himself didn’t ask Harry why he didn’t use the mirror?

* “I’m not proud of it,” said Sirius quickly.
Lupin looked sideways at Sirius…Why? Surprised? Or he doesn’t ( ... )

*'groping around in fires and frisking all the owls' sounds kind of dirty.
*It's hard to find a place in the whole series where I love McGonagall more than here. Or the twins, for that matter.
