Another theory about why certain members of the sextet react the way they do to the veil (and I'm not the orinigator of this theory, so tear it apart all you want) is that it has something to do with exposure to stinksap. Ron and Hermione haven't been exposed, and they don't react at all. The other four were in the train compartment when Neville squirted the plant and got a good dose of it. There has to be some reason Neville has that plant and that "mimbulus mimbletonia" has been the password all year long, tho how this would play out through the rest of the series, I haven't a clue.
