Yes, I know this is posted rather early, but I have fantasy football draft tonight. Priorities, you know.

Before anyone gets all offended at the snark, chill. It's all meant in fun. And, I'm rather curious to see who actually reads these summaries.

The necklace was hilarious! Too bad it wasn't an ID bracelet with Won-Won on one side and Lav-Lav on the other. Anyone else old enough to remember ID bracelets?

I'm a little miffed that Molly didn't knit Fleur a sweater. Not nice at all.

I don't think Ron really believed Harry.

Great Lupin and Harry interaction. Too bad it was so short.

I loved Harry and Scrimgeour. I guess Harry is growing up. But, part of me thinks it's a bit too...pat. This is the guy whose most common response to adults in similar situations has been "Er..."

We're reading them, we're reading them! And enjoying the snarky humour. Thanks to ACAD I can say that I got something (positive) out of HBP after all. :-)

I want more! So badly! I'm really hoping for further interaction in the seventh book -- I mean, I can't imagine why JKR would keep Lupin around just within Harry's vision unless he were going to play a bigger part; if she were completely finished with him, he would have dropped completely out of the story (the way Moody did in this book).

Tell me about it; between this and "You don't have to call me sir", Harry's turned into a pretty smooth talker overnight -- when it comes to adults anyway (will never forget his "I just have to go over [here]..." to Romilda Vane -_-).

Hee. I read your summaries! Well, I read them after I post. Which doesn't let me respond to them, but since I'm horribly verbose in most of my comments, I don't really see that as a down side.

Great Lupin and Harry interaction. Too bad it was so short.

Eh. I wish that Lupin had directed his comments to Harry, not his idea of who Harry is, and that we'd seen a sign of a connection between them. Which is a very whiny thing to want, since I didn't really expect we'd get one. I wish that Lupin's advice about Snape wasn't, "Stop having emotions, Harry! Be a doormat like me!"

Ah, the chapter where I lost every shred of respect and affection that I once had for Lupin ( ... )

Eh, I didn't find the whole Dumbledore's Army naming thing to be scary, so much as deeply stupid. "Let's confirm the Ministry's worst fears about us and Dumbledore so that we're totally screwed if we're caught! That'll be funny!" The quasi-militaristic angle of it really came to nothing in that book, but even so, it's fairly appropriate for them to take themselves that seriously. Harry a key figure in the war, and pretending that it's just a student organization is silly for him.

Yeah, it was rather strange... finding save communication methods, jinxing the parchment and so no-one finds out, and then writing “Dumbldore’s Army” on it in big letters *g* (I don’t remember it, but I’m pretty sure that one wasn’t Hermione’s idea)

I guess I tend to exaggerate because I don’t like Dumbldore (to say that mildly). Still, when they came up with that name I was thinking "wow, if there are people in that school that would call themselves DA just because it’s what the ministry is afraid of, maybe they do have a point about being afraid of it..." The way they started the whole thing seemed pretty childish, even if the group itself wasn’t.

Oh, I love this chapter - isn't it fun??

The Harry/Ron dialogue just warms the cockles of my heart. And lots of other places.

Could they be any closer without actually exchanging bodily fluids?

*twirls you all until you vomit*

"Nice," he said. "Classy. You should definitely wear it in front of Fred and George."

"If you tell them," said Ron, shoving the necklace out of sight under his pillow, "I - I - I’ll -"

"Stutter at me?" said Harry, grinning. "Come on, would I?"

"How could she think I'd like something like that, though?" Ron demanded of thin air, looking rather shocked.

"Well, think back," said Harry. "Have you ever let it slip that you'd like to go out in public with the words 'My Sweetheart' round your neck?"

"Well... we don't really talk much," said Ron. "It's mainly . . ."

"Snogging," said Harry.

"Well, yeah," said Ron.

Oh, don't you just adore them? *skippity hop, big sigh*

And, then, oh! Plot!

"Well, it is clear to me that he has done a very good job on you," said Scrimgeour, his eyes cold and hard behind his ( ... )

Admit it, shocolate, you only said that so that you could put "Harry/Ron" and "cockles" together in the same sentence!

*giggles*

Oh, Squidy one!

I have had such problems writing Harry/Ron and cock in teh same sentence - I grab my pleasures where I can.

But isn't this the cutest chapter? Harry finally, finally gets a real Weasley family Christmas - with added hormones!

*big happy sigh*

*twirls you*

Yes, I liked this chapter very much. I've always enjoyed the time Harry spends with the Weasleys because, you know, he loves them and all that crazy stuff. It's almost as if they were his family!

I love how Ron and Harry bantered about the gifts they received. PRICELESS. Harry so rocks my world in this book.

I was sad Hermione didn't go with them, but people were always complaining that she never spent time with her family, so here we go!

And if I ever had a maggot in my hair, I'd shriek and flail like the girl that I am *shudders*

It's interesting, how so many people hate DD for manupulating Harry.
(or if you prefer, has brainwashed Harry)
What was the old Star Trek, Vulcan thing, about the one sacrificing for the many? If Harry is the only one who can defeat LV, (kill, destroy, vanquish, take your pick) What do you expect DD to do????? The speech in GoF,
deeply bothered me, thinking that DD WOULDN'T sacrifice Harry for the good of the many, if it was needed. On the other hand, the more wizards we meet, the less I care for them.......
But I do have to say, the DD bashing is getting a little old, but I guess I don't have to read it........and I realize, that people do have the right to their opinions, just as I do.

"The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the one or few." Which, frankly, I disagree with. As soon as you start assuming that one person isn't worth as much as ten people you can easily say that one person isn't worth anything at all. It's a balancing act, trying to preserve the welfare of the most people while still respecting the worth of individuals. Dumbledore, in my view, does not respect the worth of individuals. It's okay that Harry was abused, because he needed to grow up "safe" and that he can save the world. It's okay that Sirius went crazy in Grimmauld Place because it protected the secrecy of the Order. It's okay that Snape's soul is torn because it secures his cover story. And so on ( ... )

what it boils down to is opinion...and we have to agree that we totally disagree, hopefully we can continue to do it agreeably. I will continue to read your comments in a non-strident manner, tho at times it is difficult to do so....:D

Let me start by saying that of course everyone had a right to his/her own opinion, whether the opinion is popular or not, and that what ACAD is all about isn't it? exchanging opinions ( ... )

Ginny obliges, sending shivers down his spine. Or maybe that was the maggot in the back of his shirt.

Hey! I like that! I get a chill after finding out I had a bug on me.

Thank you for making me able to laugh at this. And I agree - exposure to fan sites and fan fiction shows many times through the book.
