I did an archive & install and I have Leopard running on my laptop now but all my stuff is stored somewhere else so I have to move it around and it just feels like work. What happened to Apple being all about the easy way to use computers? How are you liking Leopard?

I like it...but it's not like I do much on my computer. I mean I email, chat, surf the web and make pretty pictures. My install went really smoothly though.

Tell me about it! Especially since I didn't expect anything to go wrong so I didn't back-up right before trying the install. I had backed up fairly recently though.

This is exactly why you should switch to a PC - fewer blue screens.

Linux GUARANTEES no blue screens of death ... because they're black :P

And yet, if I were to choose a new computer, I would probably still go with a Mac. I feel like I don't really have much choice in this market!

What happens if you hold down Apple-v while booting?

I did an archive & install. My laptop works and is running on Leopard now but all my stuff is lumped together in a Previous Systems folder. I'm not happy about it.

Your user settings (including the Documents folder) should have been preserved. The only stuff that would have ended up in the prev sys folder are the apps you installed before.

That would have been nice, but didn't happen. My documents folder is empty in the main section, my address book only has me and apple, my safari bookmarks are gone, etc.

Leopard is such a piece of garbage. I hates it.
