run into the future... ...the best of 2009 AND the best is yet to come!

it's been a good year for me. especially meeting seamonkey_mags; she is the awesomest.

we spent the day wrapping up the year in a good way: equipping ourselves with winter running gear. also, i got new winter boots: bogs! they are super comfy. then we went for thai dinner, and went to see the imaginarium of dr. parnassus. i always have high hopes for

I have been totally absent from lj for a ridiculous period of time, so I'm heading back and reading all that I've missed. And although I am headed to bed right now, I had to take a moment and boggle at how Regina Spektor ranked higher than Neko Case. Obviously opinions differ (case in point: our taste in of Montreal albums) but Neko's album was totally my number one without a doubt. And no Hazards of Love? Jacob, why?

to a certain extent, i had to base it on sheer number of listens, which i consulted my last.fm scrobbles for. i listen to a lot of music, obviously, and i listened to A LOT of regina spektor in the latter half of 2009. i will grant, middle cyclone is easily my favourite album that neko has done to date. but it's always a tough call for me, you know? like, any of my top six albums could have been #1; that's how strongly i like each of them... e.g. i picked Josephine as my album of the year, but i equally liked creaturesque and waxing gibbous and Vancouver.

all of which is to say it was a good year in music, much like 2008 and 2007.
