A brief update on two things that are taking up my mind just now.

One side effect of the state shut down is that people didn't think to renew their various licenses to sell alcohol. I've been wondering when the rubber would meet the road viz-a-viz popular discontent with the state shutdown. I'd guess "Not long after we can't buy beer" is the correct

That final's going to be awesome if you want to watch it before we head North on Sunday. If you haven't seen Japan play yet, it's been super fun to watch both Germany and Sweden play as if "hey, we're like 8 inches taller than these nips. Just play it in the air and we'll..." lose it almost immediately because Japanese women are apparently the best in the world at man marking.

Can't wait to see if the US can stand up against that.
