Aren't those things awesome? I can't remember seeing many for sale, but it seems like every knitter makes them a lot and they're so useful.
There sure is. :D
The coloured ones are aluminum, actually, (I totally hate plastic ones, for a lot of reasons; just personal preference. Metal ones are my favourites.) that are sized #8, #10 1/2, and #11, where the bamboo ones are #15's, which are 10mm wide if I remember right. The longest ones there are really nice wood ones (but not bamboo, I forget what kind) that are #6's, my smallest, also my most expensive pair, which are 4mm, I think. Having a variety is super-handy.
That is one badass case! It's totally awesome in its custom-to-you-ness. Do the needles fall out if it gets tilted upside down?
Oh my god, your cat chewed on the peacock yarn??? Pretty sure I would have died x.x
Heh, I love how scrunched up the ribbing looks and how much it stretches out when the model's wearing it. I think that's so cool, something so non-elastic can be made kind of stretchy by a stitch XD
They haven't fallen out when it's closed; I sewed the pockets for them pretty snug and everything keeps together pretty well because of the brocade outside bit. I've had them slide a little when it went way sideways off my lap once, but that was it.
She (I think it was Shadow, anyway) only did in like, this one part; it left that part all gross and broken, but it was only about a loss of five inches total, so... could have been a lot worse.
Honestly? This pattern has given me a love of ribbing I really didn't have before. But you're so right, I can't wait to get this done. XD
Hi! Just thought I'd introduce myself since I'm randomly adding you. :D I was linked to the recent Joker-wanting-buttsex entry on your victoria_wayne journal by a friend of mine who I think knows a friend of yours (Carla?). And I checked out your journal and saw that we have a few things in common. I'm a budding DC fangirl myself, and Good Omens is one of my favorite books. :D So, yeah, I add kindred spirits.
BTW, I should practice my knitting more, because then I could make awesome things like that glove. :O

My mom is still trying to find time for me to learn how to knit, but she keeps making me badass fingerless gloves for Realms and typing when I'm cold.
Not to be terribly dorky, but is there a difference between the bamboo needle and the plastic ones in your holder? (other than what they're made of)
