On The Hobbit:
I am still not going to be a raving fangirl over the hobbit, but I did love it. A few things I absolutely loved:
- Elrond apparently leads his own patrol parties
- Thorin's flashback explaining the Oakenshield, it was beautiful and despite finding Thorin kind of a douchenozzle in the books, I really liked him in the film
- the Goblin-King. He is hilarious and strangely well-spoken and his chin is ridiculous
- Thorin and Balin's interactions - they're so cute!
On Merlin:
I was a lot happier with yesterday's episode than I thought I'd be. Thoughts:
- Merlin was trying so hard not to be a douche! He didn't tell Arthur the first time, and he helped argue Arthur into giving the girl a second chance
- Arthur was trying really hard too! He gave her all sorts of opportunities to be spared and she just wouldn't take them
- Cara/Kara/however you spell it was a complete evil bitch who just wanted to kill people unless they were Mordred and I was unable to be sympathetic to her in any way
- Mordred's heel face turn was understandable (yay!) but his working with Morgana was obviously forced for the finale, and made no sense (not yay). I say this because I can understand him wanting revenge on Merlin and Arthur, and being angry and turning on them, and even betraying Merlin to Morgana, but working for Morgana basically means he's giving up everything he ever believed in, and it's too much of a logical leap.
- UGHHH I am going to be so disappointed with the magical reveal, if it even happens
