 Demographics

The City of Chamblee is 2,009 acres or 3.5 square miles. According to the 2000 U.S. Census, Chamblee is now comprised of:

9,552 people of which
56% are Latino
24% are White

*this is really funny to me...perhaps because i live on the edge of chamblee by dunwoody...i very rarely see latinos...most of the people i see out and about are white ( Read more... )

2000 was 9 years ago. Everyone I know tells me that wherever they were living nine years ago has changed a lot since then. I think demographic changes are happening more and more quickly in these modern times and a census every 10 years is ridiculous. You should check on this whenever the 2010 census comes out.

no this is up to date (some how); the 2000 census data is "whiter" though most of those "whites" are latino...

how strange, I don't get how that works. I always thought they go around collect info every ten years then publish their report.

I suppose one could make projections or something but that's not as accurate as the real data right?

These are estimates. They only do official counts every 10 years.

Do you like being in Chamblee as far as getting to where you want to go? I still haven't narrowed down where I want to start looking when I move there. But I was thinking Dunwoody might be a good area for me. But I also liked midtown and I used to be in love with being in Sandy Springs or Buckhead...

lolololol....

Once I get my license back, I'm gonna either fly down and rent a car or rent a car and drive down and spend more tme really looking at places. I will move once I buy a new car.....

i guess i'm technically in chamblee but everybody thinks i live in dunwoody cuz i'm on the border, and my complex has "dunwoody" in the name...it's generally convenient cuz i'm right by perimeter mall which has everything & right by 285 and 85, and not too far from lennox mall or some other mall off 75...and downtown is only like a 20-25 minute drive...

but i think if i had thought about it more living in buckhead or even midtown would be straight...they have so many new developments that you can get something really nice for a real low price.
