[The feed clicks on to show Kurama sitting at his desk. He looks far less angry than he has in previous posts. Instead, there's an air of reluctance about him, from the way his gaze flickers away from the camera every so often to the frown on his lips. There's something very uncomfortable on his mind.]
Kadaj. I'd like to issue an apology to you. I...was wrong to lash out with Mello as my target. There's nothing to be accomplished by dragging innocent bystanders into this. If you can read the minds of my friends, then you would know that I would rather not be that kind of person.
I've had some time to think this over. I understand that there is nothing you can do at this point. I won't join your family, but... I will settle for having my partner back, to the best of your abilities. [His voice grows a little softer.] Even having a puppet is better than nothing at all.
