"John? Is that you?" Helion called from a nearby rooftop.

"You look a bit lost, um... Is anything wrong?"

John looked up. He didn't realize he had wandered into people.

"Uh. Hey, Helion. I'm fine! I'm just fine!"

He tries to smile, but it... doesn't quite work, making him look sheepish.

"You don't look or sound fine, though. Just give me a moment, I'll be right down."

As she activated her halo and prepared to fly down, she tried to figure out what could be bothering John. She didn't know much about the boy, but she put together a basic idea based on what she remembered of his friends and the observations list. By the time she had finally gotten down to the same level as John, she felt pretty certain what the problem was, but unsure how to put it.

"Um, if something's bothering you, I don't mind doing trying to help you with it... If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to, but..."

"...I. Am I that obvious?"

John tried to laugh, he really does. Again, it seems to fall flat of John standards.

"Nothing's really bothering me too much, really...! I'm fine!

In an alleyway, right at the mouth of it, there was a Witch sleeping. She was pretty much just. Sleeping. Very very peacefully, almost as if nothing was going on!!! Except for the fact that her rifle was lying on the ground next to her, oops.

Anyway, she was snoring a bit, and this is still exactly what she was doing (reasonably loudly) as John walked by!

John walked by Jade, noting her snoring! And her rifle near her!

...That's strange. He's gonna go maybe shake her and see if her narcolepsy can stop for a few moments. This seems pretty odd!

Jade slowly came to, blinking in confusion before sitting up. And then she noticed the John standing in front of her and jumped up, giving him a big hug!!!

"Hi John!!!"

...It took her a few moments before she remembered what she'd been doing before she fell asleep, and instantly she broke the hug, flipping around and staring down the alleyway cautiously.

John is confused by the hug! It's nice, but confusing!

"Hi! ...What's going on, Jade? Something the matter?"

[Count your luck rotten, John. Perched on top of the building was Izaya, sneering evilly down at him. The street of Venice is now a never ending maze in your eyes.]

[Consider him freaked. What just. Where in the.

He starts trying to wander the maze, suddenly trying to figure how the hell to get out. It was a maze, right? Get to the end, you're done!

...Right?]

[Yeah well, usually maze has an end, normal maze that's it.

In this, there are monster lurking at every corner, can you survive all of them? But that aside, the path behind you is beginning to grow hot. When you wonder why and look back, will you be thrill to see fire heading your way?]

As John turned behind him, already a bit stressed with dealing with the monsters, he noticed the fire head in his way.

"Oh shit! Crap shit shit crap!"

As John stumbled over his own two feet, he tried to deal with the monsters trying to eat him and the fire - he was starting to sweat, and one wrong move... and he'd literally be toast!

Something about waking in a place so bright and vibrant did a lot of good for the Freedom Fighter's mood. Rather than hide inside and feel as wary as he'd been last F3, Jet was back on the prowl. Scaling buildings, taking in the sights, and enjoying the feel of wind on his face had been amusing- and dare he confess fun- but the job always came first, and when John catches Jet's eye, he can't help but take a closer look. Idly hopping over a railing to fall in John's shadow, Jet cocks his head in curiosity.

While the guy may have been a stranger, that forlorn empty gaze Jet recognized all too clearly.

"Hey there, Somethin' you need?"

John looked up, blinking at the stranger.

"Wha... uh... not. really. I guess..."

John sheepishly answered that, as if part of him wanted to explain but part of him was wary and wanted to keep it to himself, like he had been.

Oh, it was definitely bad luck for John to have chucked his PDA. Bad luck for him, though. Not so bad for others... Say, a pair of trolls. A pair of sisters, even. Victims that couldn't call for help were so much better than ones that could!

Terezi stepped out into the street in front of John, maneuvering around to the broad side of a hay-cart. She rested her elbow against the wooden rim, while her other arm was held out, cane extended to touch the building on the opposite side. Path forward: obstructed.

"Wow, John. That's a pretty long face you have there. Did someone kick your puppy?"

"I don't think so. There's only one thing that makes him look that down."

Another no doubt familiar voice called out from behind him, followed by muffled footsteps. Granted the dark blue gown Vriska was wearing didn't do a lot for intimidation, but she'd been occupied. Cut her some slack. Anyway, when she was close enough, she barred John's exit with her robotic arm and a toothy grin. Anybody who'd encountered that arm lately would know that it meant business. Path backward: obstructed.

"Someone insulted Nicolas Cage."

John didn't know what had happened, but all of a sudden two -very- familiar trolls has suddenly trapped him between them. He blinks, confused... something wasn't right here. No, not right at all.

"...Vriska? Terezi? What's going on...?" John blinked, frowning. Something in the back of his mind was nagging him about it, but today hadn't been a good day for thinking on his part.

"Going on?" Terezi quirked a brow at him. "You'll have to tell me, John. I don't see anything going on!"

Where there had previously been just a smile, a grin was now stretched across Terezi's lips. She wasn't moving from her spot, but she wasn't lowering her cane, either. She was simply content with making him incredibly nervous. For now.
