The Game
Welcome to the Facility! This is a pan-fandom RPG. Characters from anime, video games, TV, and movies are all welcome. No original characters, religious icons, real people, or political figures. Sorry.
The premise is straight forward. Your character has been kidnapped and taken to an experimental facility. They are being experimented on. That is pretty much it. Under the surface, there are questions about who took them and why, are the characters just copies of the originals, and who is the Consortium that seems to have unlimited power over them? The question the characters truly want answered is: how do we get back home?
This game actually has multiple locations that a character can find themselves in: Facility 1, Facility 2, and Facility 3. Both Facility 1 and Facility 2 are completely enclosed, controlled environments. Boring to the point of driving a character to insanity. The infamous Facility 3 looks and feels like they are in a city, but the city changes from trip to trip. Maybe it will be Coruscant, maybe Death City, maybe Manhattan. Moving between the locations gives the characters a chance to stretch their legs in new environments, but it doesn't change the fact that they are, in the end, lab rats.
Every Sunday there will be a test posted from the Doctor for the 'rats'. These will range from week long bouts of insomnia to zombies roaming the Facility. There will also be occasional challenges from Val, their AI overseer, to watch the little 'rats' work towards rewards like tasty food or things to break up the monotony. Please feel free to post suggestions for tests and challenges in the plot suggestion post!
Unless it's a special test and a different timeline is specified, tests will run exactly one week. At the start of the test, the subjects will wake up with whatever symptoms or conditions in place (if they're an insomniac, it'll happen when they blink). Symptoms will hang around for one week, and then be replaced by the new test. For plotting purposes, there will be a 'spoilers' post made each Sunday. This will 'give away' the next test. This is for plotting purposes only. Your characters have no idea, and please don't ruin the surprise for those that do not look. This is currently offered as a courtesy to the players that want/need to plot around a test, and abuse can result in spoilers being removed from game play.
Subjects will post to a_facility in first person, to represent the journal system in the Facility on the communicators. The communicators are a bit bigger than a Blackberry, and they can do video, voice, and text style posts. Logs can be written in third person or in script format (actions designated as such: *typing at computer*) and posted to a_facility_log . If the content is going to get adult (sexual content, graphic violence, etc.), please member lock it and mark it appropriately with plenty of warnings for those that don't want to read those things.
