wow!!!! i guess this community is pretty new, ne? but i've been having thoughts of a free atlantis for a while, and then i found 'ripples', and then i think my brain exploded. ^/___^

so, just to, y'know, add my own opinion.... i realy think the more likely possibility is that earth will, for one reason or another, just stop answering their gate one day. maybe they have to destroy the gate, or someone else does. maybe they DO get blown to bits by the ori. but as much as i love to hate the tau'ri disregard for lantean rights, i don't think they'd just leave them for no good reason, just write them off. they'd rather withdraw the expediation and cut their losses given the chance, that much i do believe (esp. given 3x10), but the sgc isn't cold-hearted enough to leave the expedition to die yet. that said, they wouldn't be heart-broken if atlantis seceded and became self-dependant, so long as they still got the benefits of the risks the expedition is taking and assure that atlantis wouldn't lead the wraith to earth.

I just stumbled across this comm completely by accident and was very disappointed to see it so quiet. Considering the recent popularity of the indescribably fantastic `Written by the Victors`, maybe advertising a_for_atlantis in some of the other SGA comms might generate some interest. I would love to see this community active again.

Off now to explore past entries.
