Timeline: just after killing Itachi, when he faints
Personality: After the trauma of his childhood, in which his older brother murdered the rest of their family and fled, Sasuke became obsessed with finding, surpassing, and killing Itachi. For a while, despite having this goal, Sasuke was able to live in relative peace and happiness. But over the course of the manga, he has become increasingly unhinged. Being tortured by his brother, living for three years on the run in the charge of a criminal psychopath Orochimaru, and finally the revelation that his brother had not killed his parents out of lust for power, but instead out of the desire to protect Sasuke - all of these things have shaped Sasuke into someone who is, more than ever, driven by anger.
The knowledge that he had been wrong about his brother's motivations has had a terrible effect on Sasuke's psyche. He feels that he is essentially worthless, and that his life was wasted. For this reason, he is often inclined to act recklessly, with no regard for his own life. Where he once sought to kill his brother, he now seeks to avenge him, and he is willing to throw himself into impossible situations in order to fulfill this goal.
Uchiha Sasuke is best described as unpredictable, or perhaps even erratic. He is sometimes very quiet, refusing to speak except when totally necessary. At other times, most often when he is angry, he will vent his feelings loudly and violently. He can seem calm, but certain triggers will send him into a rage. When angry, he can be extremely cold and cruel, bordering on sadistic. At other times, he has a strong sense of justice and will work to punish evil and prevent needless death.
Sasuke is capable of love, loyalty, and even affection (or something vaguely like it), but it is important to understand that these emotions are often steamrolled by his anger and hatred. He is capable of killing anyone if sufficiently provoked - even someone he loved as much as he once loved his older brother. Sasuke is not capable of trust. No matter how friendly, kind, or caring someone seems, he believes that they are capable of betraying him. For that reason, he practices constant vigilance, and something which seems innocuous to a normal, healthy person will put him on high alert. Furthermore, although he is extremely slow to let himself care about anyone or anything, once he finds something that he cares about, he defends it viciously.
Abilities: Sasuke can use a genetic trait known as the Sharingan - a technique which gives his eyes the ability to predict, copy, and break through the fighting techniques of his opponents. These eyes also give him the power to trap opponents inside illusions. At higher levels (i.e. The Mangekyo Sharingan) he is able to use this to create powerful, mind destroying illusions (Tsukiyomi), fire that burns through anything (Amaterasu), and even an impenetrable armor(Susanoo). However, use of these techniques will eventually lead to his going blind, and may even shorten his lifespan.
Sasuke is capable of using fire and lightning ninjutsu (techniques which essentially resemble magic) and of fighting proficiently with both his bare hands, his sword, and with small weapons such as kunai knives and shuriken, which he can summon with magical tattoo seals on his wrists. He is also extremely fast, such that he is able to move more quickly than most people can follow with their own eyes.
