"All the other money I had was big bills", or "All the other money I had were big bills"?

I realized it's a badly structured sentence either way, but I'm kinda curious.

Use monies. You'll sound wonky-rich.

"All of the other monies I had were huge bills. I was rolling in the doughs."

Haha. It came up during an email where I was buying worms. Seriously. I don't think it would have had much effect.

My mom was asking this just the other day. I think was is correct, because money is, like, the main noun. Something like that.
