It seems I've been assigned a job. As a lawyer, no less. How very astute of our kidnappers. I hardly think this could be a coincidence, yes? It's clear, from all that I've seen so far, that they have ways of spying on each of us. Perhaps we should be more careful about what we say. But maybe you already knew all of this. Ah well.

Well, the judge does have a role in it, yes, but lawyers help to make both sides of the argument clear. Once they're done explaining, the judge can make his decision. But perhaps it's different in your region.
