"What's going on?" He said, pulling her back to face him. He was about to make some sort of joke about her spilling coffee on his new shirt but when he saw her eyes, red from what appeared to be crying, his face became concerned.
"Ang? Is everything okay?"

"Someone killed Louie. Lizzie and me were out in the backyard since the weather was so nice and he was sitting at the back door staring at us. He isn't an outdoor cat, but my yard is fenced so I just let him out. My phone rang and I went inside, when I came out he was gone." Her eyes were tearing up just taking about it, she sighed again and looked back up at Greg.
"Few hours later he was on my doorstep, someone'd wrung his neck. I took him to the vet but it was already too late. They did X-rays, it wasn't a car or any kind of accident. Someone killed Louie." She repeated again.
"That's why I've been gone." She offered as a moment of silence passed.

"Ohhh my god." He mumbled, holding onto her tightly. "I'm.. I'm so sorry to hear that. Ang? You're gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay." He tried to comfort her to the best of his ability, yet he felt awful and he didn't know what to say.
Still in shock, he also whispered, "Why in bleeding fuck would anyone want to do something like that?"

"The worst part is I think it was premeditated. The phone call was a hang-up. I think Lizzie was the target but Louie happened to be there." She hung her head.
"I'll be alright though, I just want to catch the guy who did it." Angie looked up at Greg. "I was going to ask Brass if he'd gotten any other reports of people going after pets."
